I think the Rank range when ever you see a public profile is questionable.
When a players profile shows highest rank for this season. Plat 3 and current rank of gold 5, really makes matchmaking misleading.
When you can play a game were rank range is gold 5 - 2 and someone abuses another for playing poorly, saying “how are you this bad in a plat game”. Makes me think, these one sided wins and loss streaks are not coin flip, its just getting that plat 3 player back up to their intended rank.
Not really. They are matched on MMR, which now pretty much mirrors their current rank.
The highest rank is basically irrelevant.
That is just a tilted player being a moron. They are the players you just ignore.
If they were “intended” to be in plat 3, they would be in plat 3 not stumbling around gold. Sometimes matches just suck, or don’t go to plan. Players like this who have gotten tilted, often struggle to just accept that and instead will look for a target to blame.
As soon as they start, just mute/squelch chat and let them shout into the void.

The Displayed Rank Range during the Match is useless anyways. (For me Atleast)
The most one sided Matches are usually those where it is exactly the same Rank+SubRank, for Example G1:G1 usually results in the most one sided matches.
If there are atlest 2 to 3 sub Ranges displayed the matches are mostly enjoyable and not over in 5 Minutes.
