Was Plat/Low Diamond in OW1 had a like 7~ seasons break played OW2 S2 again got ranked Silver5 went 7/3 and get demoted to Bronze1? How does this work? Do I have to win 49 games in a row in order to get to gold/plat? What? :joy:

Because other around you have improved + your ability declined + you’ve not adapted to the new game.

Something along those lines usually.

Also, every season the game drops you a few divisions now. So you have to work up. Doesn’t take long because of MMR boosts if you’re way out of sync.

Yeah the ranking system is really broken. It’s put me off playing the game much myself anymore.

How is it broken?

Is the same as OW1 with a new skin (I’ll give you that it looks awful).

You don’t see your progress pretty much, you have no SR just small icons, you go 7/3 and demote. I’d say the ranking is def. worse than ow1’s was.

If youve gone 7-3 and got demoted. Then you were too high and your MMR has given you lots of -sr for a loss and barely any for a win.

If you’ve legit gone 7-3 you won’t go down.

I agree, it’s awfully displayed. They should really give you a progress bar showing where your SR is in that division. Don’t need the number displayed, as they hid it for a reason. But at least people could see how they’re getting along.

I think it’s more a PR thing than is actually being “worse”. People thinking it’s worse is an issue caused by them badly explaining and terrible cosmetic changes.

How so. Please explain how you think it is worse.

Please remember the underlying SR system is exactly the same, so what makes this worse in your opinion?

That I don’t really see my progress I go up/down randomly there is no loss counter just shows you how many out of the 7 games you’ve won, doesn’t show you where you’re at. Pretty much nothing it’s just bad. Instead of the old system “oh ok I am 2489 uno mas win and we are plat baby” > current system “??? where am I help hello?! ???”

Yeah. These are the terrible visual bits. Totally agree.

I think if they had the SR progress on a bar, you could at last see some sense of progression.

Other than that is exactly the same as it was. They’ve just done an awful job visually and with managing expectations

Agreed, ranking system and matchmaker is terrible at the moment.
Very much prefer the original OW ranking system, and the for the matchmaker, the games weren’t so often one-sided on that as they appear to be now.
