I think we only have a different opinion of the term “reward”
But i get your point.
probably not the best idea to respond to this right now cus im not feeling 100%…
blizzard were the ones who told me to go onto the forums even tho they knew full well what i was complaining about.
‘‘you didnt buy the game you bought a license to use blizzards overwatch service’’ well how is that any different than buying the game? no matter what i bought it was still with my own money…
again everyone doesnt have the time to watch these videos
i never said it was a good idea just that it was an idea.
and i didnt call everyone selfish… i can admit when i am wrong… it wasnt the best word to use… but i find it annoying when ppl complain about matchup… because its like to not wanting to give players a chance to even try ranked in the first place only because they worry about themselfes… honestly i dont play ranked myself but i have tried (its fun when ppl can work togheter and a thing like this would want me to try it out again) and i take it seriously… but how am i suppoused to want to play ranked when all you hear is ‘‘dont do it it will ruin the matchup’’ i also take QM seriously but not as serious as ranked…
you believe whatever you want but i didnt only do it for my own benefit… if it was only for my own benefit… i wouldnt want to waste everyones time.
and i wasnt going to accuse you but yeah i was wondering if you got them or not… i can see your point and im glad you could keep it as civil as you did
Just one question, why did you miss out on the all stars skins?
Like if you miss out on them, that’s on you. And there is nothing you can do about it.
so i guess you didnt read what i wrote
To be honest that’s a bit surprising, I guess it’s a way of avoiding an unpleasant answer or are evaluating what’s communities point of view on the matter.
I just wanted to point it out because it’s a common misconception nowadays. Game that is your property cannot be taken away from you, however a paid service can be terminated if terms of service are violated.
I couldn’t either unfortunately but those were the terms set by blizzard in order for us to get that skin. I respect you for coming forward with ideas, I was just giving my understanding of why it would be a bad one, that shouldn’t discourage you from having more ideas and coming forward with them.
I fully agree, with a good cooperative team overwatch is a whole new game, but I don’t think a skin would promote good teamwork. Currently we have golden guns as rewards and they aren’t promoting teamwork, so we would need different means of reaching that reward.
Ignore anyone that tells you that you will ruin the matchup. If you want to play competitive, you should. Not because of a skin though, but because you enjoy that particular mode (assuming you do).
I assumed that because you mentioned that you missed out on all-star skins and argued for them to be available, but not the pink mercy skin, even though you mentioned it. If I was wrong, I apologize.
Bottom line is I’d like for both you and me to have the skins, anyone else who wants it as well, but I really wouldn’t want Blizzard to back on their word and show more dishonesty. I’m their fan since old starcraft and respected them for keeping things fair as much as they did.
Anyway we kinda went off topic a bit, for the current allstar skins I don’t think there’s much we can do. However if you want to improve competitive and have skins as rewards, don’t be shy to show ideas. Current workshop is proof that blizzard is open to ideas. Perhaps a tournament that would award skins to winners, but including more than just a very minuscule portion of the community. Eg. each tier would have its own tournament with same rewards, so even lower tiers would have to form teams and experience overwatch in a team environment.
PS, I hope your day gets better.
You completely avoided the issue by not answering the real question, a ranked mode as you call it, is still a mode made for facilitating skills and ranking players accordingly to compete, at the extreme tops, rewards are often involved to encourage improvement.
So by answering the way you did, you actually corrected a point, that was never raised, i never said, that rank wasn´t made for bad players to experience, merely that the mindset it facilitates and whole setup for the mode is the same for new or bad players as it is for good or pros, which is improvement, getting better and performing. If you do not wish to do these, that is why QP, ARCADE and Customs are a thing.
totally forgot to say thank you for the ‘‘i hope your day gets better’’ cant edit it now… apparently blizzard wants to approve my post… great!
I don’t see a question there. The reasons why you play comp might be different from mine, however there is no ‘final truth’ on your part to share with us. I play comp because I just want to play the friggin’ game, thats ALL.
oh and i want to thank you… even tho we have different opinions its ppl like you that makes me less afraid to write in/on the overwatch forum xD i know it sounds cheesy af xD
There is though, there is a reason, that the mode has certain limitations and ban able offenses to it, that others do not. The mode is made for the very reason i stated, others can compete in it, with other intentions than to get become pro, as long as they follow the mindset.
Reports are equal everywhere. People can get reported for the same things in QP as they do in competitive. I am not sure where this
is coming from.
what if I can’t facilitate my skills any further? Am I doing it wrong and thus should stop playing because its not what comp was made for? The other reason you named was just a hollow platitude… ranked was made for ranking people against each other… lmao what??
Its basically the same excuse why smurfs are “good” - they help others improve. But if you don’t want to improve and are content with your rank? Go play QP, scrub, lol
Are you incapable of comprehending how simple a ranked mode is ? It isn´t meant for fun and games, do what you like and such. It is meant for competitive match ups.
In short terms so you can understand it more easily, as it also says in the Rules. There are certain things you cannot do in Comp.
TLDR
If you want to have fun and do, what ever you feel like doing, then the rank mode is not the place for you and you can be punished. If you are good or bad is irrelevant, as long as you try to win every time you queue up and do your best.
There are certain things that are completely allowed in Arcade and QP, that are not in Ranked. In deathmatch killing yourself is not against the rules and totally allowed unlike in rank for one thing. Also generally not actually going for the objective in QP and having fun with enemies etc, is actually not against the rules in QP, you aren´t required to try your best to win, even leaving is still permitted as long as you do not do it too often, which can get you a mild punishment to discourage further leaving.
Stop strawmaning, the idea here is, it is fine to be, wherever you are at, be happy with, what level you play at, as long as you try your best to win, if you otherwise give up, or as others say “Just play to get CP points for gold weapons”, you are playing the mode for the wrong reasons, which is why Blizzard hates the decision to having implemented gold weapons.
oh the game is not meant for fun? okay then, I get now why everyone is toxic. lmao.
stop posting pls.
(discarded the rest of your nonsense)
Who enforces that and how?
If I was allowed to play the way I’d like to play there wouldn’t be a single smurf in my games. Unfortunately they are forced down my throat like a bad cold and assume that what they are doing is good for everyone. You know, you got sick a bit but it made your immune system stronger! Then the cycle continues until you decide its not worth going outside anymore.
i have discussed the pink mercy skin aswell but not in this thread… i was thinking about bringing it up aswell
this is what i wrote in a discussion that was a little different
‘‘and about the mercy skin… it would be kind of stupid of blizzard not to bring it back considering its for a GOOD CAUSE! honestly id love if they had another event like that… or the same one but a skin for another champion… it was clearly meant for charity… and it was for breast cancer… and its not just miraculously cured because blizzard decided to do this event one time!.. my mum have cancer (ovarian) and its something that effects a lot of women during a long period of time… i already have the pink mercy skin… but id also like to bring it back because id like to give other players a chance to recieve it and to help other ppl who deals with cancer everyday’’
i just meant that im wondering how the same ppl who says ‘‘dont bring back the all-star skins’’ can say ‘‘but i really want the mercys pink skin back tho’’
and are you seriously suprised blizzard sent me here? they do it everytime i have a complaint …
about buying the game i know its different i just choosed to put more focus on that people buy this i know some ppl have parents who buys it but… in my case it was with my own money
The developers
Problem is, smurfs ruining games isn´t the norm, it is the abnormality. Alternate accounts and the like is literally needed with how the game is designed to play, or you would practically be soft throwing every time you go for new heroes in ranked.
