I just only recently realized and found out this oddity with the Blizzard app and region choosing, I’m hoping I can get an answer to this how this really works, because I’m curious, so here goes:
You can choose your region when you launch the Blizzard app (on PC at least), before you log in. Whether it’s EU or US or any other. The difference with doing this obviously is, that the regions are different but so is your friends list, even though the Battletags are the same on both regions when I checked. So the friends list is different.
The thing is however, that no matter WHICH region you log in to, you can still choose whether you want to play on the EU or US servers before you actually start Overwatch.
That being said: So… if you log in to the EU region when you start the app, then choose to play on the US servers. Does this mean that all the players who are also playing on the US servers at the same time are actually EU region players who have just chosen to play on the US servers? and they are actually not US players at all?; So they are players who have made it also so that they have started the Blizzard app with EU region setting and then chose the US servers.
So in order to ACTUALLY play with the US players, you first need to log in to the US region when starting the Blizzard app, then choose US server setting before you start Overwatch?
I hope this made any sense…
Thanks!
