With 1 less tank and he is the focus target, you should have done the opposite with his shield, it should have been increased to its original state. Nerfing it to 1500 was wrong in the first place. Dont get me wrong Orisa’s rework is genius but there is no way you get more value out of Rein in this state.
Inclined to agree, Reinhardt feels even more out of place then he currently does in the meta of OW1.
With just having one tank it’s easy for the enemy team to burst your shield down and to charge you, so far he feels extremely out of place/clunky in the faster-paced games.
I’m not sure what Blizzard can do to give him some QoL changes without completely changing his gameplay/feel though.
Rein is fine in OW2 beta.
Arguably the strongest tank if you play in a coordinated stack.
Solo queue, he not be the best option, someone like D.va might be. But I think he’s I’m an ok place for now
rein is mostly fine, he just needs a support that works for him like a lucio that speeds him around or ana that crams darts into him and nanos him.
most of the issues i have is still the same old same old, trickling teams and toxicity and i’ve been only playing support because it’s the role people don’t seem to play.
Im not so sure about that. The original nerf of the shield was due to presence of sigma and orisa duo with rein, that is not the case anymore. Too many flanks for him to cover. I only see him do okey in kings row and route 66 last point.
the issue rein has is just actually getting to enemies as supports stay in the back and the dps have higher movement speed so they can endlessly run away from rein, other than that rein is ok, there’s not a whole lot to stop rein from shattering full teams except good positioning and awareness.
Rein, Lucio, Moira, Sombra, Soldier seems to have very quickly become a soft meta comp when people are coordinated (higher up)
Rein is fine, people will just need to playing him aggressively.
I think there is a problem with supports not living long now, but part of that could be down to people not adjusting to a new style.
Looking at Rein, I think he still needs the Lucio pocket, with Moira throwing healing around for everyone as you 5 man rush people.
Rein feels great rn if you have a support that knows their role. It also helps if you know how to play Reinhardt - and that isn’t a dig at anyone in particular.
The fact is that OW1 thought people a lot of bad habits that get punished much swifter in OW2. Give it some time for people to disavow themselves of their bad habits.
Yeah. I think support players are going to suffer initially, they need to get out of the pocket DPS habbit.
it’s honestly as dumb as it always have been, dps don’t understand that peeling is sometimes a part of what they need to do for supports, that’s why lucio and moira are so highly played currently as they just live longer without any need for peeling as they can peel well enough on their own.
but good luck surviving on ana or zen or bap against a very dive’y team with low coordination on both sides.
this is honestly why rein is so good because he gets the most out of a lucio more so than other tanks.
This is certainly a problem lower down. And part of the gamesense and game understanding lower rank people suffer from (that often leads to them toxically blaming others for things, when they haven’t actually been playing their role correctly in the first place).
it’s not even that, it’s still the basic struggles of trickling in to die, it’s still the hail mary attempt at winning teamfights with your ultimate alone against the entire enemy team.
and then you’ll have those who try to play as a team that get infinitely frustrated because the rest of the team isn’t.
my stance is this, if you and your team isn’t in voice chat talking then you can’t blame the team for not having team coordination, that’s just part of the course, ofcourse you don’t have team coordination if you’re not on voice.
100% with you on that last bit.
The people who demand coordination and team work, then type away and complain when it doesn’t happen (as they aren’t in voice) are the funniest players to me.
mmhm, but yeah as i will probably tell anyone who plays solo, just look at the team and see who you can follow around, that helps so much, not only are they happy they have someone watching their back but you’ll be more happy because you have a body between you and the enemy team sometimes.
Yeah. I think if im solo, I will play D.Va. If I am in a stack with friends, I will play Rein.
how you liking the qeues for tank though?
I’ve not found the queues on any role to be too bad tonight.
Noticed they were saying up to 10 minutes for some roles, but whilst duo (tank and dps) we waiting about 2/3 minutes. 5 stack was about 30/40 seconds.
I don’t think this beta will be any indication of how ques will change. More people want to play tank and dps atm because they have the new things. But there’s also more people still playing live OW than there is in the beta.
i’m on fill solo qeueing and i only get support ;D
Yeah. My first 3 were support doing that, so I called in some reinforcements to stack with.
I played Rein and got matched against LHCloudy and got utterly destroyed lol
I am finding from my time on support and watching others, people are really going to adapt how they play. Had one game with a Zen that liked to push to the front and get off angles because that is how he plays current OW… was getting destroyed.
And on tank… if you have 2 supports that know to keep you up, you can play so aggressive. Especially as Rein.
I haven’t even played Rein yet because I now prefer Orisa, his new style is much better and fun, and also Hog which I always enjoy. I used to main Rein at some point but now I don’t feel like I want to.
