This is a question for some of the lore nerds out there. Does anybody know what’s up with Reinhardt’s armor?
In the first cinematic trailer, and in the comic about Reinhardt he is seen in his default skin armor, which is probably his “old armor” they mentioned in his description. Where does the armor come in he wears in the animated short, and the armor he wears in the Uprising event/comic (as well as many pictures of the active OW era)?

Also, I’m sorry to tell you this, but “Overwatch Lore” is practically an oxymoron at this point. There are so many gaps and contradictions it’s actually funny on multiple levels.
Yeah, I don’t think they planned things very well. It ain’t natural.
My guess is that the armor from the uprising event is the same as his default one,just that at the time of the use of the uprising times it was a lot newer and now it’s well,old. The lore is a joke tho because Mr. Chu just doesn’t want to produce anything except changing the sexuality of characters and calling it development.

Yeah the classic skin is blank and the Uprising one has the OW logo on it. But bear in mind that if Rein’s armour is the same as form his OW days, it’s over 7 years old at least. Even with Brigitte’s careful maintenance, it would have rusted over time.
The Honor & Glory armour, I think Reinhardt would have stopped wearing it after joining Overwatch, either because he felt that young and reckless part of him was gone or because he was told the armour was too flashy.

Do you by any chance remember the number on his armor? I know it’s not much or canonical but maybe there’s a different one on it. I believe the classic is no. 008.
I don’t think that the logo or the paint could be lost in this quantity over the years, but I have a limited knowledge about painting metal.
I do love however your idea about the young Reinhardt and why he left his armor behind.
The number on his Uprising armour is 008; it’s painted on his hammer.
I don’t know about his default armour having a number at all though-I’ve never noticed it.
