Some time ago I asked here for new sounds for Rein’s GUAN YU skin and amazingly enough… IT ACTUALLY GOT CHANGED!
I really love the new sound. I asked for it to be changed to the same sound the skins that have an AXE use, as that sound is incredibly satisfying and it would be cheaper than making a new specific sound for a spear or whatever weapon the GUAN YU skin uses.
However… It got a completely new sound effect if I am not mistaken. It fits the weapon perfectly and once again, it is very satisfying to use.
However, there is still quite a problem someone pointed out during my first topic.
Rein, even during use of his “axe skins” or “spear skin” shouts “HAMMER DOWN!” when he ults. I know it may be a small detail, but if this got fixed, maybe this has a chance for repair as well. I know it is possible as Hanzo and Genji already got some of their ult sound effects changed. Like Genji shouts “The demon becomes me!” and Hanzo… well something in Japanese I believe.
I was thinking for a bit about what could Rein shout since “AXE and/or SPEAR DOWN” sound kinda rubbish, plus it might be smarter to make him shout something that could be used for all upcoming “sharp weapons” no matter what would be the exact shape. Well, my best idea isn’t exactly ideal, but it might work…
The best thing I came with could be simply: “POWER-SLASH!” or “MIGHTY SLASH!”
Works for all sharp weapons, has the same amount of syllables and doesn’t sound too awkward to me.
