So I finished off my Arcade wins for bonus boxes and I saw I was about one QP short of leveling up, so figured, might as well LFG one match. Went to LFG, set filter to QP and eventually joined a group.
Group title indicated nothing, just leader name and group (X’s Group). No mic/voice chat required either and under Queue heading, it just said Any. Group filled up and as we were about to go into a game (search for one), heard someone on the mic saying he was getting the message that all players must be lvl 25 or higher to queue for Ranked.
WTF!? If one of the people hadn’t been only lvl 20, would’ve ended in a Ranked match.
Trouble is, if you set filter to QP, it shows groups under QP and Any, if you set filter to Competitive, it shows groups under Comp and Any. Wanted to queue for Ranked but ended in QP? No biggie, just bail as match starts. But queued for QP in a group listed under Any and end up in Ranked?
People being just too lazy to properly title their group and/or make sure they are listed under the right Queue, majority of them seem to leave it on “Any” which serves no purpose either way. Please consider removing the “Any” option and make those creating groups actually list their group under proper Queue depending on what they are wanting to play.

I totally agree !
When looking for QP, I had to leave more than once a “any game LFG” after the leader clearly said (or even launched) the ranked search !
Had to shout a “stop the search !!!”
Apologise (even if I’m not feeling any guilt) and leave politely.
The LFG should be forced to ONE game mode.
So the leader can not just switch and say “we play now this and now that”.
Also I’d really prefer if those groupleaders could setup their prime team or disallow heroes so I don’t have to “hope” that I stay in the team and get kicked for playing hero X. So I can filter already all games that disallow the usage of a certain hero.
Also I’d love to see a feature that I can pre-select a hero, so if I want to play Symmetra I can already select her in that LFG and as soon as the match starts I have her selected.
Siege wasn’t working last night, so hit OW LFG, figured I’d do some DPS runs in QP. At most, there were 4-5 groups listed as Quickplay (after setting filter to QP), yet 15-20+ groups with Any also showed up.
Worse, some of those groups were definitely looking for Ranked players based on their group titles, but in many cases, even the title gave no indication of what they were looking for.
I hate that when I queue to a specific type of game (QP or comp), that “Any” shows up in the results. Teams of “any” quality can be very misleading and troll-like. If Im queueing for QP, I dont wanna comp, and vice versa. Any is quite stupid inclusion and removing it would make things better. Currently it just clutters the search results since Im never joining a team with label “any”.
Another possibility would be to make the search exclusive, ie. “any” only shows up when you search for “any”.
Here in EU there already is a large number of search results that I’m not going to use, due to groups specified as certain language that I dont speak. Like 20-30% of search results are actually something I would consider using. I don’t need any MORE unwanted search results.

I agree Any should not show up when you filter for specific type of game.
I’ve told about this issue in this topic
Adding one more point. If you set the filter to “Competitive Elimination”, it will only show those groups (however rare they may be), not CE + “Any”, so the framework to not show them (Any groups) when using other filter settings should be doable.
