Remove Private Profile

Im growing a 4th nut from entering a game and trying to check which heroes my fellow players are competent on and being stopped by the notorious private profile. Please just remove it, its so bad and it makes me angry. Youre literally denying me crucial information in regards to choosing my team comp.

This is exactly why the function is there.
What will you do when you see the player who has most hours on Rein picking Lucio? Will you be nice about it of flame him for not picking tank?

I don’t think private profiles should be removed, but the system should be changed.

All profiles should show you that seasons Win-Loss-Draw records for each role, including private profiles.

Private profiles should show the most played 2 or 3 heroes on each role.

You can keep SR hidden, hide all the stats. Just leave that on show.

If someone has deranked their it will be right there for EVERYONE to see. If, in the rare case, someone is smurfing and boosting accounts… It will be quite obvious.

i can see why people would want this but it does just lead to more toxicity that its worth.

i kinda agree with this but it can also be misleading. mercy is my 3rd most played support this season, because I was practically forced onto a pocket to make a dps pick remotely viable. i have a 30 something % win rate with her and i cant stand the hero.
whereas bap and zen, I have played for around 30 minutes less and have 60% and 70% respectively

its obvious anyway, there is just next to no punishment in place for it

Private profiles are a good thing. You get belittled and insulted on WoW forums when someone sees your arena ratings, same with this game. Better off being private. Although you still get trolled for having a private profile. Just can’t win lol

The people who’d look at a profile and find a reason to try be toxic about it (like someone does on this forum), will be toxic anyways without it. They’ll just find something else.

But giving some information is more of a help than a hindrance.

Someone who’s deranked, there is literally no profile if the profile is hidden. Anyone can play well in any given game, so that wouldn’t be a sign of a displaced account.

Ultimately, hiding your profile is a sign you are afraid of something.

  • being judged
  • being found out as a cheat
  • showing your deranking
  • just afraid of the rank you are in
    And many others.

Just open them all up again. No one cares, people will judge you and be toxic either way, so who actually cares what they have to say.

I have to say I totally agree with this. Time to remove private profiles, I think they put them in to cut down on Toxic flaming but this hasn’t worked.

Exactly.

If an insecure player is going to flame. They going to flame.

Hidden profiles won’t stop that. Nothing will.

Yo, Stalker Alert!!!

let them find something else, its better than having misleading information readily available.

its not though. if you really want them to play what they want to play just say you’ll fill or wait for them to pick first.

if they dont play well enough to make it clear that they have deranked then they aren’t good enough for it to be an issue.
also, being deranked isnt a reportable offence, youd have to catch them in the act of deranking and then report for throwing and hope the automated system picks it up.

this is just an opinion presented as fact. I had negative winrates on a lot of heros for the majoirity of this season, I then climbed back after a rough month. the information on someones profile is missing the context of the player. on my way back up I got a lot of sht for having a 40% winrate on ana, I ended with 58% 800up from my lowest point. do you see why basing things on past events rather than the current situation is a bad idea yet?

there is literally no reason for other people to be able to see your stats. not many other games do it for that exact reason. it gives players the ability to sway their opinions based on something they didnt actually experience. the only reason ive found for people genuinely wanting to see peoples profiles other than looking for something to flame is to see who the person would want to play which can be achieved with the communication the community seems to care so much about.

Your views are fine if solo que.

But if you are creating a group, you want to know what people are playing, SR, and so on. Constantly having to ask for open profiles is a pain.

Just have them wide open for everyone. No one should have anything to hide.

People sway their opinions based on things they haven’t seen/done, without any information, so a profile isn’t going to change that (see the few Flats spectating bronze players he’s recently uploaded).

Public profiles give people the opportunity to insult their ratings and such. So to avoid such behavior, private profiles are key.

Like you keep trying to do with me… lol.

Not nice is it? Considering that’s what you did to me. :man_shrugging: (And others)

I don’t care. Like I said, you only hide you profile if you are scared or have something to hide.

Sadly, you have only ever had a hidden profile so I have never seen yours.

Yeah sure, ofcourse you haven’t. :man_facepalming:

You not believing me is a you problem. You might want to get that sorted.

You are not bright at all.

:man_shrugging: Ok Nightwing. x

Wow, A typo. I fixed it for you, seeing as it was triggering your pedantry.

Not really a sign of intelligence level is it.

Repeatedly calling someone by someone else’s name, hoping for a different reaction makes you look either incredibly stupid, or mad.

Don’t judge a book by it’s cover, i mean of course you’ve heard this saying right?

There’s just no way you can check all the important statistics of 5 other players in the start of a match. This also results in you judging players wrongly, time spent or certain statistics do not show wheter or not they are a good player.

OP if you’re this serious, then group up beforehand. If you do not want to do this then i have no reason to believe this post should be taken seriously.
