So I was just chilling in Quickplay, playing ball to get some free coins and stuff. I wasnt “playing” since I was just being friendly with the enemy healers, and then I get reported for gameplay sabotage. I mean srsly, Its quickplay. Their reasoning is that im ruining their game, and again, its quickplay. I thought quickplay was meant to be fun. Not full of people tryharding to win. What do you think?
Classic Quick Play is now the main Overwatch mode. If you slack off in it you deserve to be reported
I think that I’d report you too.
Definitively i would report, you ruined the game for 5 people at least.
reported.
If you just want to “chill” play against AI or other nobrain arcade modes.
or better yet go to one of the many hundreds of custom games that are “chill out” modes
just because its quick play doesn’t mean you have the right to do what you like, you should play just as you would in competitive, with a view to win the match and work with your team to that end
Why would I play Custom or Arcade, when i wouldn’t get free loot from it?
because for many its the fun part of overwatch…
if you want loot, it isn’t free, you have to earn it by playing the game, if you want to piss about play custom, otherwise you’re liable to be reported
This is a bit ridiculous tbh. Anything outside of “competitive” play, should not be taken too seriously. Seeing “friendly” players in quickplay is very common.
Its not really ridiculous though… and im not advocating for being the sweatiest tryhard that ever tried hard in QP or arcade… however
This is a team game… which you cannot win at all if 1 out of your 6 is not pulling their weight… hence although it is a casual game mode it is your responsibilty to play the game as per the way it is meant to be played otherwise you are activly being a detriment to your team and hence ruining their game…
Although you may think so your fun does not trump theirs especially if you have somewhere else within the game to go and have your brand of fun without being a detriment to your team e.g chill out custom games
If you want to have fun by being friendly go to custom modes… if you play qp qpc comp or any other game mode which requires your full cooperation in order to be played correctly then it is your obligation to do so else be reported
Fun is subjective, commiting to fullfill the map objectives and kill the enemy is not. If you are not trying to do that on purpose, you are guilty of sabotage.
If you just want to do fun stuff, go Arcade - Custom games. QP is not the place for that.
You’d rather have me throw in comp? and should i report people for not playing meta in qp or not joining voice because im tryharding like its comp?
learn to read
20 characters
already read that bud, and playing custom games is not in my interest. and if you knew how to read, you would already know from what i wrote before, i didnt want to play custom
Quick play, Competitive and even Deathmatch, are the most serious game modes, therefore, it is expected for everyone to at least do the minimal effort to win the game.
If you leave in a Deathmatch game , you get a penalty the same way you would from QP or Competitive.
The loot is there to encourage people to try different things.
Trying different things is not the same as throwing the game by “chilling with the enemies”.
That’s what skirmish and custom games are for.
You dont get a penalty for leaving a dm game??? only if you leave multiple
That’s what i meant, the same way you dont get penalized from leaving ONE quick play game.
The 75% XP reduction is applied for dodging multiple games.
Regardless, the game has objectives , which are meant to be completed.
Intentionally choosing not to, is not the same as not picking the current meta.
The least you can do it games like that, is roll around as hammond, but still try to win.
If you look at other games where you have “Free loot” it usually takes a lot more to get said loot than it does in overwatch.
The fact that you can get it for playing QP as a tank, does not excuse you to throw the game, and make it a fast loss to farm loot.
There’s a reason “Gameplay Sabotage” is on the list of reportable offenses.
If the point of the gamemode is to, for example, push a payload and kill enemies, choosing not to is the definition of sabotage. Hence punishable and reportable.
if custom games is not your idea of fun, and playing the real game modes correctly is not your idea of fun, then im afraid you’re going to have to find a different game
because being “friendly” in any of the actual real game modes is contrary to the point of the game, and hence is gameplay sabotage, their for you are liable to be reported and banned for it
Got rightfully reported, definitely a gameplay sabotage.
