Tracer currently can’t quite kill Bastion with her ult if he has full hp. The bomb does 5 damage if you stick the target, plus 300 damage when it explodes. Bastion has 300hp but also has armour, so the total damage dealt by the bomb is as below:
- 5/2 = 2.5
- 300-5 = 295
- = 297.5
Leaving him with 2.5hp after a stick. It’s not always easy to also shoot him beacuse you have to blink in and recall straight away. Buffing the stick damage would allow bastion to die when stuck but wouldn’t really affect anything else. And tbh I think a Tracer who’s able to stick a Bastion deserves the kill.
(Note: if Bastion is in Sentry Form or Ulting then he gets 20% damage taken reduction anyway so can’t be killed with bomb on the new patch (he could on the old patch when bomb did 400 damage). In turret form Bastion takes 239 damage from bomb.)
Thoughts?
You can pre shoot for the 5 damage and you don’t need to recall depending on the situation.
If you buff pulse stick dmg by 5 and you dont shoot the bastion hes just gonna tap that heal button and live. Anyways you should shoot him. As a pro tip.

As if Sticking someone isn’t ‘value’ enough.
I hate how Blizzard mollycoddle players by letting CC/Utility skills deal damage.
Why? Why does Hook have to deal damage? Why does Flashbang? Sonic Arrow? If players are too liberal/careless with their utility use, they should pay some sort of cost, not think: oh well, Sonic Arrow or Normal Arrow, either headshot will kill.
And the fact that a Tracer meleeing a Reinhart takes the same damage off as if she was meleeing a Baby DVa is madness. Tracer doesn’t need any sort of buff. She’s the key balance problem in Overwatch, whether Blizz want to accept it or not. You can’t have that much speed, control, self-heal, ult charge, and versatility.

I don’t see why the sticky bomb should outright kill Bastion.
Tracer needs no buffs in any way unless you give her heavy nerfs first
Pulse bomb feels like an ability rather than an ultimate.
With the low impact/low CD.

Yes, exactly. It’s perfectly fine. Tracer can charge her ultimate very fast, which is cool, but only as long as it isn’t extremely strong. Since it’s so easy to land on big targets such as Bastion or a tank, it definitely should not oneshot them.

I didn’t say it’s fine. Its not. You can’t even bomb a Brigitte and that’s not ok. It’s not easy to stick it to the majority of things.
It counters bastion. Sure. Hanzos ult charges almost as fast (actually faster now) and counters the entire hero pool
You could just shoot him a little, or even Melee cancel into Recall. Or just stick a healer instead
I believe they changed it bc OWL players where too much Relying on the dmg, so they stick a tank + follow up. Bc its a safe stick compared to the try to stick mercy while she flies pass you and hope it hits
And in OWL you always have follow up dmg.
