Resolution issues

Hi there,

I moved my PC down to my TV to watch a movie,
The resolution is different then my PC.

When I moved my PC back upstairs and plugged my monitor in everything was working fine with the right resolution… but Overwatch wasn’t

If I start my game up it is on the resolution of the TV.

When I go to the change resolution slide down thing it doesn’t show 1920x1080.

It gives these little stars (*) on the resolution of my TV, indicating it thinks my monitor is that resolution.

This issue has made it impossible to play the game normal and its really annoying.

Does anyone know a solution?

(Additional information:
I have a NVIDIA Graphics card, GTX 1060.
My monitor is the: G-Master G2530HSU.)

Cheers,
Oreo

Hello :wave:
There is a way to change the resolution of the game from even outside the game client.

  • First off, close your Overwatch game.
    Go to C:\Users<your user>\Documents\Overwatch\Settings
    and locate the Settings_v0 file

You can edit this file and update the correct resolution in the following fields.

FullScreenHeight = “1080”
FullScreenWidth = “1920”

  • Save this, and when you start your game, it should read the resolution from that file and apply it.
    Hope this helps.

Thanks for the help, Star!

Oreo, if what Star suggested doesn’t solve the issue, I would recommend the following.

Delete the Battle.net Cache folder:
battle.net/support/article/34721

Repair the game:
battle.net/support/article/7655

Restore Overwatch to default settings:
battle.net/support/article/126203
