Returning after Overwatch 1

So I decided to give Overwatch 2 a chance and play it. I liked the first part. It had its drawbacks, but in general the game left positive emotions. But the second part is just mess. Free price obviously did not benefit the game. The average level of the game has dropped low, toxicity has increased (after all, you can make a new account for free), everyone blames each other for failures but not themselves. If you get into a verbal confrontation with the accusers, you will get a guaranteed report and most likely a ban in the future. What has really improved is the monetization. Now there are several currencies and packs. xD It reminded me of HOTS. The game is free and toxicity is rampant there. Hots is not in active development today. In a state close to death. But they left access to the game for donations, I guess.
You have top stats - you are to blame, you have bad stats - you are to blame. The reality of the game today. I also like calls in the game chat with a suggestion for the enemy to send a report for a teammate. Why isn’t Blizzard fighting this? Greed brainwashed? It seriously lowers the mood.

If someone’s toxic, report them. If nothing else you’ll be rid of them for a few weeks if they need to make a new account.

I’ve noticed that the people who are the most toxic in my games are the ones doing the worst at the time. Usually children who don’t take losing well.

Falsely reporting someone can lead to action being taken against the false reporter if it happens often enough, that hopefully helps in the long run.

All in all i agree, several things could be done better, and some thing the ā€˜free to play’ makes worse (like the ease of getting a new account).

The queue times are shorter though, at least in the ranks where i’m at.

The in game ping system is nice as well, makes it easier to communicate enemy positions and who you want pressured down.

Simple answer, greed. I don’t think they care anymore. They’re just milking things dry while they can.

Yet you have and will probably in the future give money to Bobby Koticks pride… The WoW subscription…

Yes blizzard are greedy and not overly interested in the players… So don’t give them ANY money. No point complaining the being part of the problem.

Hello Mr Harasser. We’re talking about Overwatch here, not WoW. Completely different games.

Same company, same greed.

Except WoW is Bobby Koticks pet. He doesn’t like Team 4 or OW.

So, if anything, playing that is somehow worse… But that’s another issue.

I agree with this part so much, considering this happens to me all the time in competitive.

It’s nether true or false

Toxicity is no better or worse now, but free accounts mean people are a little more ā€œbraveā€ with it as there less risk.

Ultimately, you’re anonymous. When people are anonymous they tend to say things they wouldn’t usually say.

It is true, the fact that i witness these things on a daily basis and that i am not the only one confirms this completely.

You can ofcourse keep staying in denial like you always do.

No denial.
I see the toxicity every day too. You misread what I said.

It is neither better or worse. It’s the internet… It doesn’t change. Nothing will change until people lose their anonymity.

The game gives you all the tools you need to do your part… Reports, mute, block, and so on. But you’ll never stop people

Agreed here bud. The toxicity appears to occur alot more than I had experienced in OW1. It could be because of the smaller, more dedicated population at the time, and since the launch of OW2, the toxic players have come along also maybe.

Agreed. I hope they do something about it one day.

Yup! Or many of them have created multiple accounts because of F2P.
