The only thing i wished that will never happen is to force the 2-2-2, i Played Paladins for a long time before deciding to buy Overwatch, and the only reason made me switching from Paladins to Overwatch is that u cant pick something else after chosing the hero, now this Happened in Overwatch getting stuck looking at your Dps doing literally Nothing, playing Widow 10 Shots 1 hit, playing Genji that i didnt even notice that we have a genji for the whole game, they suffering so bad against the enemy team when u know that u can do better than them if u just switch or play 3rd DPS with themā¦ i hope this role Queue will get Canceled in the future cos its a huge mistakeā¦ (sorry for my bad english)

I agree, i played a few games on the ptr but didnt like it at all. On some maps i just dont want to play dps, or on some i prefere dpsā¦ Now you cant choose.
And indeed, sometimes we want to switch roles in de second round and this makes it impossible.
Also i bought the game because you can be creative as a team in which teamcomp you play, now the whole essence of the game is gone!! you can not go whatever you want because others āthink they will win every match with 222ā wellā¦ That is not trueā¦
Also the toxicity wont go away with this, because people still demands other to pick the hero THeY want you to playā¦ And people are not able to swich roles if things didnt work out, so they blame others more and more (no it is never their faultā¦)
People also say frequently that hero x isnt good and is useless. . While in the right hands the hero is awsome, and besides: if the hero is useless, why is he in the game??

Out of the many reasons to be against role lock, this clearly isnāt one. How many times have you had Rein swap to DPS because āDpS iSnāT dOiNg AnYtHiNgā? While I havenāt counted how often that happened, I do know that you lose close to 100% of the games where this occurs. In role lock, this āReinā would queue as DPS, because heās clearly a DPS player, otherwise heād stick with his role and be aware enough that itās a nonsensical swap.
As for āon some maps I want to play DPS, on some I donātā - what do you do if another role would be needed? Do you still play whatever the heck you want, or are you a team player? Because for team players, itās an overall improvement.
If you want to criticize role queueing, go for the simple issue that 40-50% of players prefer playing DPS (as evidenced in QP pick rates), meaning that queue times will be wildly different.
If you want to criticize it further, extrapolate from there that impatient DPS mains are likely to queue as tanks and pick Zarya or Hog which will lead to plenty of games without main tanks.

Itās going to be in the game for at least Season 18, but thereās always the chance that Blizzard will develop a soul and give us a good Season 19.

what are you talking about? What do you mean with āgiving us a good season 19ā? You play not against blizzard, you play against people who are the same who played previous seasons too. I donāt get the idea that one season can be worse than some other, its all the same people playing all of them.

Right on spot on every point. Especially with the āpeople thinking theyāll win moreā that is the whole reason for most advocating for it.

No you lose games because of bad players. Simple as that. While it is true the most common mistake in lower ranks is not grouping up properly and pressing āwā together as a team, there are also plenty of people just playing the wrong hero regardless. Team comps will not be perfect with 2-2-2 and chances of your team getting rolled cause the other team is just better organised will still be high.
Something many seem to forget is the opposing team will also be 2.2.2 so the odds are, if you ainĀ“t serious about your comp, they will also have a very small step to take running a decent one. The % of troll comps will be the exact same.
Furthermore people will still pick bad compositions and most of the time youāll be in a position were you can not do anything to change that at all. 2/2/2 only limits the game while stroking the egos of those that wanna āfeelā like they have a good composition every game, sadly it does not translate in to a good game, good players, and most of all a win. Quality of games in the higher ranks will get slightly better as people already very flexible in masters and beyond, while mishaps can happen they will obviously be far less than in lower ranks, but again all ranks will be exposed to the regular trolls, throwers, bad players and hero picks.
The fact that 2/2/2 is not some magic recipe for people to win more games or necessary having more āfunā games. Two factors that for most people regardless of what they say are very interlinked as well. It will not improve the game much. In terms of quality the lower you go in the bracket the more toxic and less fun the game will be in terms of a team experience and people performing to an adequate level representative of the rank.
yep, role queue is a crappy idea and will do no good to this game. Iām probably going to stop playing it when this garbage goes live.
No, but as support main i wont have mental breakdown every few games because of insta 5 dps lock
if you have a mental breakdown because of a game, you definitely should stop playing.
