Season 9 overview

Im slightly confused to why these changes have gone live… honestly… i get the need to make the game different as like WoW they have the season affixes etc. I don’t feel the current changes suffices.

The heroes are everywhere and your isolating people by nerfing select heroes from changes to the bullet sizes. This game was supposed to be equality and diversity after all.
I also think the passive is too strong, kinda hard to kill. I thought the aim was to make the matches quicker? Now it feels like OW1 again.

PS is it just me or is the gravity on movement a little weird and buggy?

These combine is making this season awful already.

The aim of the patch, in terms of the bullet/projectile changes, is to make the game play more consistently when 10 people have variations in ping. In the past this is what cause weird looking Hanzo shots and Hog hooks for example. Also, helps improve consistency on console.

They’ve also changed the HP to remove a big chance of being randomly one shot out of nowhere. Whilst other changes to damage and such mean the base ttk doesn’t really change.

The DPS passive enables better team play, reducing healing received during coordinated strikes, whilst the healing passive helps if you’re a bit of a solo Sam and you’ve gone on a wild flank.

The changes are by no means perfect, but they do seem to be a step in the right direction.

I understand what youre saying but it is harder to kill with natural healing. Just seems abit strange.

Especially with the bugs people are posting online about hit boxes and all that

That doesn’t kick in for 5 seconds out of combat. So isn’t really going to stop you killing them. Unless you can’t hit them lol

They aren’t bugs. They look silly, but that’s intended. As I said above about ping, consistency and consoles.

Also, they look silly if you’re right up close. How often are you actually shooting someone 3 inches away.

Season 9 of Overwatch 2 is a step in the wrong direction. The projectile size increase resulting in increased hit box size and rate has de-skills play. Everyone can manage to land shots they would normally have missed (i.e been slightly wide of the mark).
This makes damage characters too powerful and engagement more frantic and less measured/skillful. Too much focus is on gunning and not game sense and timing.
I have played competitive play today and no one is looking to play tank. Everyone is looking at damage characters as they are now over powered due to projectile size.

I’ve seen this a lot and don’t get it.

It’s the same for everyone… So it’s a complete status quo on that front. Skill expression is the same, the cream will continue to rise.

DPS too powerful? Given they’ve been irrelevant for 8 seasons in OW2, and even more going back to OW1. I’m not sure them having more impact is a bad thing.

I guess the issue is that we are all used to a certain way of dodging shots, but now that it’s not enough it feels unfairly easy to get hit.

It should pass when people re-learn how to dodge certain weapons.

Agree. I also think, given that it looks bad from a PR point of view. They will probably adjust things in season 10.

These are such big changes that i’m sure the devs are keeping a careful eye on things. Perhaps we’ll see adjustment already during midseason patch.

honestly they aint. Hanzo and dps now dosnt even need steady aim. And my game was at steady 25 ping now i get ping up to 200, How can fix makes game worse. And hitbox of dps is just ridiculus, I am main tank and i played dps just for fun and with soldier soljurn and hanzo u litelary cant miss tank lol

Hi good evening! I have been playing overwatch for quite a while now. Needless to say I put in a lot of hours in the game and never have I even gotten matched with so many TOXIC players in competitive, it’s out of hand and the matches in my rank (platinum) do not feel good at all, quite the opposite. Not only for the toxicity of the players if you are having an off game, but also because it does not feel like platinum, like it used to be, I’m not saying I miss the old competitive overlook, I love this one. I just wanted to raise awareness to this situation, I am not having fun playing this game anymore.

This is the stupidest season yet they wont admit ow2 was a failure… in going to 5v5 this season it feels like you blow up instantly or nothing dies its unbalanced. way too many heros have way too much health and dps passive is stupid complexity already added to a complex game.

I get that you don’t enjoy it, many don’t… But I am interested by what metrics you think it is a “failure”.

Not including balance, because that is too subjective for now. (balance will never please everyone).

they keep making all these changes that makes the game effectively broken so many heros unplayable the game was in a decent spot last season then they go and make these drastic changes for what reason? they said they want to slow down the game this does not slow it down. they tries the somebra QP thing to speed up the game for the only modes available that weekend make up your mind do you want the game faster or slower? i agree 6v6 double shield was stupid that needed to change but 5v5 was an objective failure almost everyone i talk too that played ow1 agrees tank is absolutely miserable to play there was no need to remove a tank that was what make ow unique i play all 3 roles im not just a tankie whining here support was way too strong for too long but this was not the solution when i say ow2 was a failure i mean in the formatting these games ARE FAR MORE ONE SIDED vs ow1 stomp or be stomped rarely anything in between yes when its the nature of the game when a team starts to roll its a snowball but its too much pressure for one tank with all the cc and now dps passive in the game they continue to make stupid changes that further complicate the game all to just not admit ow2 was not just a money grab they will hold onto 5v5 until the death of ow and it makes no sense

Would you rather that they made no changes? That is part of what was killing OW1…

I get it, you don’t like the change. Somethings in the patch I think are awful… but surely it is better that they are changing things up, trying things.

But everything you’ve said here are all subjective things that you dislike. Which is fine. They will never please everyone, if they could, there would be billions of players rather than a few million.

I was more interested in what metrics you think mean it is a “failure”, rather than what you do or don’t like about something.
