So simply put im an aussie from perth
now i know its not uncommon and even and intended feature to be placed on alternate servers such as pse1 instead of syd2 some of the time. as the matchmaker takes a variety of factors into consideration such as ping,game quality, active playing population ect

My issue is that the Majority of games both in quickplay and competitive if i solo queue i am placed on pse1. Note i have NEVER been connected to syd1 or pse2

The problem is not the ping with the servers its the absolute pits of packet loss.
Now i know usually this is caused by hardware or ISP issues. I recently upgraded to our NBN(not the best but much better then ADSL2) i did not expect that to ‘fix’ anything due to the factors i stated in the first paragraph. It has however prompted me to look into this issue which has plagued me since launch.

So between a new router,ISP, faster connection i still for the majority of games am placed on the incorrect server. If i am playing with others within australia and i group with them i will ALWAYS get placed on syd2.

As you can see from the report all traffic from my machine and the first hops through telstra/TPG are fine however the moment i reach hop 5-8 (ie the amazon hosting servers from a quick whois) i have a relatively constant stream of dropped or lost packets. including a rather large lag spike in most occasions.

It does make the game difficult to play and enjoy for obvious reasons.

Is there anything that can be done either on my end other then a third party VPN or server side to address this issue if it is considered an issue by tech support.

Lastly any idea why i am never connected to syd1 or pse2? only ever syd2 and pse1.
