Sigma banned from comp

Why isn’t Sigma banned from competitive? No one knows how to play him. He should be banned like the rest of the heroes did when they came out.

Because this is a Beta season for 2-2-2. Basically, a big PTR on the live servers. Your rank will not be saved. I assume that this is also the testing phase for Sigma, so that he can go live on September, immediately into Competitive since players can use the beta season to practice him.

because comp hasn’t started yet, it’s beta, it says so right on the menu

I was watching a video and they mentioned that Sigma was banned. Either it was a glitch, or console is different to PC

Speak for yourself, I played 2 comp games so far and won both and I played Signa.

Got teams that have been able to mould around the pick. If I ever go as Sigma the other tank is always a roadhogs or D.Va or something stupid so it doesn’t really work very well.

If our rank doesn’t get saved, does that mean there’s no point of working so hard in comp right now?

The goal of the beta season is to test out the new system on the live servers. The next Competitive season will start in two weeks. So technically, no, your rank does not matter.

But if that means you will start throwing from now on, please play another game during that time :slight_smile: Also, while your rank is not saved, I’m not sure about your hidden MMR.

But wasn’t the MMR one number for all roles? How will they change that for 3 roles? I thought there was an MMR reset (finally) since I’m getting even more stupid teammates than before

There’s a “soft” MMR reset, I don’t know the details on that or what exactly that entails. I do know they have been tracking specific role MMR for a while now.

EDIT: On a side note (but back on topic actually) I do agree that he shouldn’t have been released for comp yet, beta season or not. People trying out new heroes is not a good competitive representation for a beta season. I just wanted to explain the probable reasoning and reassure you that the SR won’t be saved.

I disagree. It’s good that we can play the whole roster so that we can try out new comps

Yea, but when your MMR is affected because your team is playing a character that they can’t use, I don’t think that’s a good thing
