You know it is funny when people claim to talk about “skilled” heroes like Genji, WM and DF. And yet is being played overwhelmingly on basically 95% of the games. The truth is it is easier to get kills with these heroes.
WM:
Random headshot instant delete even with bad aim np, the super size hit boxes will help u a bit.
Genji:
Reset on swift strike cause you can’t kill it off yourself ? np! here is an assist killed by your team mates who give you a free 50 dmg. Even it’s description is false “If Genji eliminates a target, he can instantly use this ability again.” if GENJI eliminates a target…
DF:
An 4 second instant kill ability which is not hard to hit, do i need to say more ?
I just wish these people with their “skill” would stop sheeping/copycatting and stop making Overwatch a bore fest with every single frigging game containing 1 of these…
There is undoubtedly a difference in skill floor/ceilings between the heroes of Overwatch. However we often see them differently on the individual level based on our experience playing them and playing against them. Its very compelling to complain about other heroes being too rewarding for easy gameplay but perhaps they succeed against you because your approach toward them is not perfect. I’m barely in diamond so take my opinion with a grain of salt: Mastering difficult heroes will not betray you. In low elo, it can seem like genjis, widows and tracers are getting unfair or random kills on you but it is often because you didn’t pay attention to genji’s dash cooldown, widow’s line of sight or tracer’s blinks. Tracer (for example), is still widely picked in top500 because she is a ‘skilled hero’ and can excel against even her counters due to her high skill ceiling. But these top500 tracer’s don’t get to that elo without having incredibly good game sense and using her kit to the maximum potential. My advice is that you should try to play the hero’s you are calling ‘easy’ and see if they truly are. If it turns out that they are indeed easy for you, you could simply play them instead of playing into them. If you can’t beat them join them.
It is not me thinking they are easy it is more like sheeps thinking they are playing something so hard you need an engineering degree. Every hero needs some sort of awareness and game sense.
But the main fact is not just playing against these heroes but the same if they are in my team. You see them ALL the time ( esp in QP ), we have quite the roster atm but nope especially Genji and Widowmaker are a plague containing in basically every game.
So in short win or lose i don’t care I am just tired seeing the same sheep kid insisting playing and over used hero (Genji,WM,DF atm) . It gets dull and boring facing the same over and over and over again. We are not talking a few games nope basically every single game every single day. And the worse they most of the time NEVER swap.
But I will give you one ray of sunshine. Ana is most definitely a “skill” hero. I doubt anyone could disagree that she has a high skill floor and possibly infinite skill ceiling.
You are supposed to be on fire most of the time and prioritising shots the right way. Prioritising as Ana: if you have no damaged allies then you are supposed to shoot at enemies instead of doing nothing.
I am talking about those who barely heal at all, ofc you should shoot the enemy when there is nothing to heal. But i am talking about those being busy too try to get kills 75% of the game and give the odd heal here and there.
I really don’t have much to contribute to this list or topic since I barely play any Damage heroes but… while you do have a point on the Genji dash reset saying that Genji has to eliminate a target, his elimination count increases even if someone gets that kill a second or two later. As is the case with every other hero.
None other hero has really any reset mechanics, Genji’s kit is allready too forgiving and this passive on swift strike over does it. If they changed it that it only works when Genji get’s the killing blow then I’m pretty sure his pick would decline a bit. Cause you know it requires more “skill” then.
There are no really “skilled” heroes in this game. All heroes have easy to use abilities, and abilities are much more powerfull than basic attacks. All you need to do is learn where to stand, when to attack and when to run - positioning and game sense.
Comparing to real FPS games, like CS or UT … that’s not a “high skillset”, that’s actually “basic skillset” …
True.
You’re forgetting Sombra :D. Actually, whenever developers or famous
youtubers/streamers say some hero is hard to play, you can expect a flood of that hero in quickplay … Why? No idea, I guess players think that if they can effectively play hero X - they’re automatically pros, and teams will fight to give them e-sports contracts ;).
That’s because they watched “highlights” from pro players, and those obviously contained only kills … so, they get that idea that pros only do kills as Ana, and heal here and there a bit. We don’t want to watch some guy healing 5 people for a whole 2-3 minutes, do we now?
You are supposed to be on fire most of the time as any hero … but still, you don’t want to over-extend.
To be fair…
There is a metric ton of Genji players who have NO IDEA what they are doing, so their lack of awareness/team comp/aim makes those who are actually competent seem “skilled.”
Also, it’s Blizzard, so Hitscan = skilled.
Non-DPS or non-Hitscan = REWORK INCOMING.
4 hours actually on DF, 7 on Genji and 13 on WM cuz u know mystery heroes is not added and even then why should i play heroes i find boring ? I am not a sheep like your probably.
Big words for a dps sheep kid who hides his profile, not that i need to search through a profile to come here trying to make a personal attack. How about you educate yourself in social lessons.
I am not surprised by the usual sheep like you who plays over used heroes.
There was no personal attack just the factual statement that you are, because of your lack of experience (and as it seems also mental capability), not in any way equipped to make any statement of the variety you made.
and hey a quick play andy like you shouldn’t be so insecure about the fact that basically all the heroes you play are incredibly low skill and maybe you should consider joining the 5Head club and play some superior high skill heroes.
PS: using sheep as an insult is already WeirdChamp enough but then you do it three times PainsChamp
No thanks i play what i like and not stick like the usual kid who can only play dps heroes currently on FotM and claim to achieve something. You also don’t know what your talking about in base of skills unless you call the pro’s low skilled players who play rein, winston, zayra all the time.
Also sheep is not an insult it is just what you are, typical person copycatting current fotm dps heroes and all. Cause the screaming “pro” streamers are doing it so the sheeps like having the delusion that they play something they think requires an engineering degree.
Any average gamer can commit to a week of playing Genji,DF,WM and be “good” with it. But you know some people their time are allready precious as it is ( you know job and family ) and i prefer to spend that time playing something I enjoy.
But you be proud of that skill to aim with a mouse, maybe you should tell your boss or teacher about it. Maybe they give you a raise/higher score for being proud of sitting on your butt holding a mouse steady.
It still stands if they claim that the “1” shot mechanic is not fun like they removed from roadhog. Then why should DF have it ? why are headshot hitboxes the size of a cow making it that more easy for WM to get headshots. Why is Genji’s kit is so forgiving ?
Then you haven’t seen enough yet. It is possible to have two teams with a huge skill gap between them even if they are composed of the exact same low skill floor heros. Low skill floor doesn’t mean “no skills required”.
Another poor fella who does not get it, the same to you. Be sure to tell your parents/teacher/boss about you holding a mouse steady. I bet they are impressed by these elite “skills” that help out society.
Anyway if you don’t get that game sense and team work is the highest form of “skill” in this game. Then you are the typical dps “main” who think’s he can carry the game alone.
This ^ there is no such thing as no “skill” required on any hero. You can have the best aim but without game sense and team work you are nothing.
