Smart drugs + Pro play?

I never realized smart drugs existed untill recently. My question is how does blizzard ensure those who participate in owl and other eSports do so without the use of smart drugs?

We have drug testing in other sports, is it time to test in eSports for smart drugs?

Smart drugs would enhance players cognitive functions, making them better at the game.

Is it classed as cheating?

I’d love to see what everyone thinks!

Also I think my main concern would be accelerated reflex times.

Incase your not familiar with smart drugs Google : Nootropics for more info

Please feel free to use this topic for yourselves if you wish. Im interested to see how these situations could be dealt with.

I’m also not insinuating that pro players are currently using them or will in the future.

I just think fair playing fields are important, and it’s an issue that really could easily go unnoticed.

Thoughts? X

They are placebo. Ofc there are real stimulants but what you mentioned are not.

Smart drugs aren’t really a thing. Its just the same as having a big cup of coffee or a giant line of coke lol

Exactly just that. Eating certain foods would count as doping then too.

I herd many were classed as illegal and banned (like in the UK)

I’m not talking about the vitamin ,caffeine style enhancers. - although the those ones seem harmless enough.

I mean ones you can only get through black market , tor etc

Also a giant line of coke??
Do you mean cocaine?

Coke has caffeine in it so yes he meant it. It stimulates the autonomic system. There are different drugs like norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors or agonists which would enhance you cognitive functions, but you what you mentioned are just plain placebo.

Just because coffee and cocaine both contain caffeine doesn’t mean we can compare them as equal surly?

And I’m talking in regards to illegally obtained substances . Sorry if that was not clear beforehand.

The main point I want to make is that is it fair I’d players used them in e Sports. Personally I think it’s a cause for concern.

So if I rephrased this as “do you think illgeal cognitive enhancers should be tested for on pro players?”

Cocaine has caffeine. What are you talking about?
