Think about it. Snipers are supposed to be hi skill picks. they heavily reward good accuracy, but also heavily punish bad accuracy. this is not the case for the snipers in this game.
lets start off with widow. her sniper does not punish bad aim nearly as much as other snipers. if you miss a shot, then you would have another shot ready within the next 1-2 seconds, which is too forgiving for a hi skill pick.
next, hanzo. another thing about snipers is that they are only supposed to be good in long range combat. hanzo is good in literally any range. on top of that, his forgiving fire rate and being able to one shot is not fun at all.
It’s a team based game, heroes aren’t balanced around themselves but how they work with others. Sure that Widow might be popping off consecutive high power shots, but it’s worth nothing if she is missing most of them, having to deal with barriers or getting dived. Hanzo again can have similar issues and yeah he can afford to get closer to targets, but no one said bow users can only work from long range - Bows are not snipers rifles.
Right for Widow because she’s a hitscan, but not for Hanzo. If hanzo was that cheated, they wouldn’t had to buff him with storm arrow. A bow is way harder to play with than a sniper
The only reason ana can’t one shot you as a sniper is because she is a support character that heals. Her focus is not dps. It would be very broken if she could both sustain her entire team and 1 shot people.
Widow actually is super balanced because it’s very difficult to land those head shots on the variety of tiny characters we have in this game that aren’t in the tank category. Also it takes you 3 seconds to charge your shot to be able to 1 shot people. Furthermore she is super vulnerable at close range. She is a one dimensional character focused solely around her snipe capability. Let me just add that widows that have to take more then 1 shot to kill someone pretty much telegraph to the entire enemy team with that red line exactly where they are shooting from and if they do that multiple times like i said they are just asking for the enemy team to go there and kill her. So i don’t know what game you’ve been playing but apparently it’s against new players that don’t understand any of this or prioritize targets like widow. I guess we just had very different experiences in this game.
Hanzo though i have to agree on. The storm arrows are very noob friendly and very hard to mess up which does bring hanzo to front line like soldier would be and makes him a sniper/dps combo which i’m not in favor of. Unlike widow this makes him a threat both long and close range which shouldn’t be the case for a sniper. Honestly, even though i know they won’t change him, it would be really nice if instead of the storm arrows he had some kind of warning ability similar to widows mine but maybe more like junkrat’s trap(but with very low dmg and root duration) or like a fish net thing he can deploy that just traps his enemies in one spot for a couple seconds giving him a moment to escape or shoot them down if they get really close. This will make him focus on sniping which he is good at and make him more vulnerable at close range.
Also we can’t leave him with the very slow shot speed he has at the moment cause he isn’t hit scan but you know what just a simple increase in shot speed depending on how far he pulled his bow back(cause full charge takes a few seconds to get) would make him more challenging, skillful and fun to use at long range while keeping his identity as a long range sniper and we wouldn’t see this abomination of widow/hanzo on almost every team. xD Just cause hanzo is so dependable atm.

Compare it to other e-sports/Fps where snipers have the same effect about the same rate of fire, but wait what, there is no mobility cooldowns like dash, jump and other things to instantly get on your target and everyone has the same one shot HS healthpool in those games as well, no 2xHS healthpool, where it doesn´t even matter if your accurate.

If she doesn’t headshot, you can get away. Or be healed by a nearby support.
Landing a body shot takes a lot of practice, and getting a consistent headshot takes double that time.
You must be playing a lot of games without tanks or sustainability to call snipers OP because that’s about the only situation where they exceed over most other DPS heroes.
Because there isn’t actually a way snipers should work universally and besides Widowmakers already get punished hard if they miss shots as your opponents destroy your team if you don’t contribute damage to your team in a teamfight as a DPS. Other thing is that Widow’s vulnerable against anything diving or keeping a barrier in front of her targets so there’s already proper ways to play against her
Not really in long range as you can even just dodge his projectiles while they’re in the air as long as you don’t get predicted. If you do get predicted then you’re simply being heavily outplayed by the opponent.

All characters in the game are either low or med range characters
Expcet for the snipers !! They kill with one shot if they are far or near !! Shouldn’t they get a damage drop if someone struggling just to come near them
Hanzo and widow pick rate are sky high in consoles in comp & quick, most players are using mouse & keyboard on consoles which is infair to begin with
A good balance that they cant kill at low range, if a character takes time to go all the way to where widow is sniping from, once the enemy is seen he is one shot killed (that happens a lot lately) , wasting a team player time to element widow .
They either should get damage drop in close range, or both widow & Hanzo should have 150 health
Also widow need to scope which makes it harder for her to look around and easier to counter a little bit
But hanzo doesn’t scope or reload !!
How the hell am i supposed to go near him? Even tanks are bad againts him without healer !

Yeah… you’re completely not right lol. All DPS have to deal with a shield. Sym used to not have to when she was a supp but now as damage, she does.
So far it’s only Moira that can go through shields. I’m not sure if Mei’s freeze does, but I do know that Rein gets slowed when she primary fires at his shield.
I hate them because I actually want to play as part of a team in this team based game. I’d much rather someone willing to work with the team than a Widow who just sits at a range not helping at all (lets be honest at Gold rank on PS4 no Widow is good enough in getting kills to make up for their absence in the team).
All I ever hear about this game is it’s team based, why are the most overpowered and most attractive (and most picked) heros the snipers?
He’s being sarcastic. Everything everyone says is a usual sniper counter (shields, dive, tracer/genji) snipers deal with better than most other DPS. Hook around it, hook away from it, one-shot it.
Difference being Symmetra players should actually want to encounter barriers because it costs nothing for her to attack it, it restores her ammo and can be used to charge up the damage giving more firepower to take out enemy players.
Moira is not the only one that can penetrate barriers, Winston’s Tesla can as well. Mei shouldn’t be able to, so it could be a bug or she is so close that the freeze isn’t effecting the barrier but the person behind it.
Yeah I’m not sure if it’s a bug, but even with the shield up I start to get slower and I wonder if it penetrates the barrier. Once as Brig I got slowed down with my barrier up and the moment I let it drop I froze.
