Sombra is rolling this season. She is in every game and can destroy any support. Ridiculous to play against. NERF HER
Agreed. Any meta with Sombra is a rough one.
Get a dva or orisa, even a mauga can spam around. Dont get me wrong playing against a sombra is its own thing, but same can be said vs every niche dps.
Get rid of her ability to hack health packs or at least cap it at 1 pack and for less time. Easy fix without drastic changes
I think the healthpack hack is only for 30 seconds, but at least it’s no longer forever.
30 seconds is an eternity though. all other cooldowns, even bap’s lamp are shorter. With the way supports function now, playing tank relies heavily on health packs in a lot of situations. its just my best idea for nerfing sombra without destroying her kit
How about, keep hack, and remove Lamp and Suzu.
Very few sombras even hack healthpacks now, but even so it’s not the most broken part of sombra’s kit.
The burst damage potential kills any squishy very reliably if the whole combo is landed, and i think the hack, virus, damage combo is too easy to land for the amount of damage that it does.
Unless you interrupt the hack or manage to sidestep the virus right after, you are good as dead. On top of that the translocator gives her access to the entire map and she has unending invisibility.
Some form of a small nerf to her wouldn’t go amiss, but changing too much would be too much. (Nerfing healthpack hack is a good one, but doesn’t affect the burst potential)
If her base damage is touched she will very quickly sink to unusable if things go too far, so perhaps instead a longer virus cooldown or taking down the virus max damage?
Maybe a hack goes through slower? But slowing it down too much would make an iconic piece of her kit near unusable.
Perhaps stealth and movement nerf instead of touching damage at all? At first doesn’t feel like a big enough nerf, but will affect the sombra’s positioning and escaping capability. Perhaps keeping her from setting up right or being caught out of position more often.
Slower invisibility movement? Longer cooldown on translocator? Wider detection range?
Any combination of those last three would make her harder to get value out of, but not outright touch her damage output.
Stealth (or invisibility) has always been a difficult ability to balance in games. I remember playing StarCraft and those damn Dark Templars were a pain (was a while a go so maybe I’m mistaken). Same with Sombra, her invisibility gives her a huge advantage over just about any support or dps hero. So I think that part has to change or adjusted. How? Now that’s a good question…
Cassidys grenade works against stealth users.
however the grenade is way too slow and does way to low damage to weaken sombra before she dissipates.
Hanzo’s sonic arrow works against stealth users.
However the sonic arrow only stays in the ground for like 7 sec.
→ miss your shot on where the sombra is and you have to wait 12 sec.
you can also use heroes that makes you fly in the air but then your team would still be targeted by sombra.
genji can be hacked which means no Reflect
no reflect means no survivabillity.
reaper can get hacked as well.
If your tank has their back to the front line (or is hanging out in the back line) just to spray-n-pray to try to detect Sombra, then they’re being useless as a tank. The point of the tank is to be in the front line, making space for the rest of the team and they can’t do that when they’re looking at their own back line. Not to mention, you have to get lucky and happen to shoot where Sombra happens to be to uncloak her, and then she just translocates behind a wall or whatever and it’s back to square one. Meanwhile, all that time the rest of your front line is hanging out up there with their pants down.
The perma invis needs to go away. Sombra players should have to plan when to use it, and suffer consequences if they don’t plan it well, same as any other hero’s ability. Not just take their time leisurely positioning themselves, hack/virus/eliminate, then translocate away and disappear into the shadows again.
It would be wise to make it just like tf2.
And put a timer on stealth.
Timer on stealth and footprint sounds. Every character has footprint sounds depending on how dangerous they are.
Seeing so many topics on Sombra on the US forum… their might be some truth in what people think at the moment about her…
I think that her stealth needs to be on a timer again like many here say.
If they nerf virus max damage a little bit, everything else can stay as is.
It would lengthen the time she needs to spend in a 1v1, but not destroy her assassination and flanking potential against most characters.
Easy, since they ripped Sombra from Skye from Paladins. Don’t make her Cloak a perma skill that has a 2sec passive cooldown. It needs to be temporary with a longer cooldown and a keybind. There’s also no reason for her to have 250hp with her curremt build, since she has translocator that just autocloaks her again every 6secs.
The overwatch devs don’t want an official complaints section so they must love to be publicly shamed!
How dumb you gotta be to think sombra is viable? You must love endorsing toxic behaviour and griefing! Why else would you implement so many buffs in a row to a character no one enjoys playing against!
The only people who play this female dog are trying to get a rise out of you or know they’re losing the game and immediately switch to her because they know she’s overpowered and can get away with basically anything!
Her existence in a game changes the play style for everyone!
Do you really think one character should really have that much impact on a game? Isn’t this why you nurfed Symmetra years ago?

Sombras cloak is the problem, why not make it like, you activate cloak and it lasts 1 sec but if you stand still inbetween the timer your cloak stays activated untill you move again. Maybe we can argue about the timer, but for me a good solution when it comes to ballancing. Cloak unlimited is too strong and not predictable (yeah footsteps and emotes, i know). removing her cloak is also not fair. So why not make it like you as a sombra have to predict where the enemy will go or pass your way, coming out of the cloak and hacking, like it was befor, but now you have to use cloak with brain. The cloak move timer can be 1-2 sec, so she has still the ability to hide and bait.
