No one will convince me otherwise. She makes the game so bad to play.
Spawn killing, invincible, stops ults, stops you getting away, stops any form of basic attack, hack and virus so quick by the time you can do anything you’re dead.
I may be bias as I’m 95% support but she just makes it a miserable experience. I’m so sick of walking out of spawn and dying in 0.05 seconds to an invisible zero skill troll.

On gold and lower a sombra is quite reasonable to out duel on any support.
Just need to shoot both ways before stepping out of spawn to hopefully clip her first and have an advantage on her. At least that might make her hesitate to attack on.
You can’t run from her, so you pull out a gun (on mercy and weaver) and start shooting. Always hold thorns or blaster when leaving spawn on mercy and weaver, it’ll be faster to shoot her.
If she leads with a hack, strafe while turning around to face her. That way you’re likely to avoid the virus and have an even playing field with her.
Aim for headshots (not on ana or moira) and don’t stop strafing until she leaves, to her spawn or with translocator.
If she translocates away, keep shooting around head or upper body level in the direction she went to. If you reveal her, go for the kill. If not, head to your team.
Personally i find mercy the easiest to duel a sombra with, but whoever you are the most comfortable playing will do fine.
Some have more caveats than others, like that zenny needs to defeat her quickly or she just farms him. Mostly because his movement is slower than others and he has a big hitbox. So he’s easier for sombra to hunt.
Without sombra in the game, widowmaker would have less counters, also doomfist and ball have less counters.
When one of those three is carrying the enemy team, you kind of do want a good sombra on yours.
And she can’t stop basic attacks, only abilities. Your gun always works no matter if she hacks or ults you.
Just be ready to react the moment you see the hack visuals on your screen and you can 1v1 her. If she hits the virus, you might still be able to kill her but you’ll end up in spawn too. But at leadt the other support is safe from her for a moment.
Also try to stay really close to your team, so they can help u too
This doesn’t help when being spawn camped, and i have literally gotten hunted by her while being right next to my team.
If the sombra’s good, they can get you from anywhere.
Very few dps look out for their supports, and the tank is too busy with the enemies to be expected to peel for you.
Your best hope is your fellow support and your own aim.
It’s always a nice surprise when a dps checks up on you from time to time and reacts to your pings though.

I actually agree. Sure, she can be countered. And yes, I’ve won many duels against her or games where the enemy Sombra was good. But that’s not the point, the point is; her kit is unfun to play against. There are definitely more heroes which I do not like to play against but at least they ‘feel’ fair to some degree. Sombra feels unfair… (Yeah I know she ironically has a voice line where she says “Whats the fun of playing fair?”…

If you cant counter sombra after she has been nerfed to the ground with new tool kit then you are just a bad player with bad mentality

I’ll help you even; I’ve said that she can be countered… and I won many fights against her even when she was played well. But… and here it comes; THAT’S NOT THE POINT… It’s not about gid gud… and 'omg you suck because . The point is… again… She’s unfun to play against. That’s it… UNFUN… She’s not overpowered or underpowered… she’s unfun. And that’s totally my PERSONAL opinion… You can like playing against her (or as her), that’s fine. But I don’t… and therfor she ‘feels’ unfair to me while she might not be.
The only thing that I find unfair about her is that Hanzo cannot one shot her --’ Is quite an hard task land an headshot at close range after being hacked and being shoot… he could perfectly one shot her.
A part when playing Hanzo, I have same opinion, I can handle her with mostly of heroes (well sometimes we find very good sombras), but is very unfun, I must have always in mind: “There is a sombra out there” to be able to react quickly
If i see Sombra i go Moira or Mei ( if nobody cares and I need to deal with her fully on my own)
she’s like asking everyone to play most boring/unfun heroes so even sometimes we end like Zarya/Mei/Sombra/Moira/Kiriko

Exactly what I think, in the right hands she can be so annoying and can make you -break the monitor- kind of tilted. If you are the one who can play her though, things are getting really fun. LOL
