Some thoughts about Overwatch 2 Watchpoint Pack

Hello everyone here are some of my thoughts about the Watchpoint pack.

For players who already have the game you are paying 40 euros for 2 legendary skins, 2000 in game currency and season 1 Battle Pass. We also know that 1000 currency equals 1 Battle Pass.

For players who already own the game the value of this pack mainly or to a very big extent comes from the Battle Pass and in game currency. We also don’t know what the skins or other items will look like for season 1 so you are basically paying for things you haven’t seen yet which I’m not a fan of especially for a pack as expensive as 40 euros.

If you’re deciding to sell a pack worth 40 euros where most or a lot of the value comes from the Battle Pass and in game currency I think it would have been much better to at least show some of these items so that you can make a better decision to buy the pack or not. Right now if you already own the game you are paying for 2 skins and the rest of the cosmetics you don’t know how they will look like.

We don’t know yet how much a battle pass will cost but if we say that it will cost around 10 euro, that’s 30 euro of the Watchpoint pack and maybe 5 dollars each for the skins which doesn’t seem too unreasonable but that would mean that the pack maybe are only worth it for people who want the 2 exclusive skins that are included in the pack because you can instead skip on buying this pack and decide in the future if you want the first season Battle Pass or not and pay for a future one or skins instead of it worth the same money.

Personally I think it would be good if Blizzard shows at least some of the cosmetics in the season 1 Battle Pass or in game shop before the launch of Overwatch 2 so you can make a better decision to buy or not buy the Watchpoint Pack.

They will. NDA period for some content creators ends next week I believe, there will be a last chance event for all the old cosmetics so you can use your credits up.

At that point I imagine they’ll be using streamers to promote things along with their own in house campaign (probably just random posts of Twitter knowing them)

We already know the free battlepass will have new heroes in, and the paid battlepasses will be 80+ levels ending in a mythic skin.

A pass will cost about €10-15 it seems. So you will get value, if you’re willing to put the time in too. So in that sense the watch point pack was good value for money.

You will get the PVE in december too

That is an optimistic shout lol.

Didn’t they say it won’t be till next year? I might have misinterpreted something though.

Hopefully the pass is worth it but I’m not fan of Blizzard selling something that you can’t yet see and instead you need to hope that the items are good. Yes you maybe get a discount by buying the Watchpoint Pack and in that sense it’s maybe worth it if it’s true but think if someone buys the pack and later regrets because of not being happy enough with it and think they could have saved their money for buying extra items in the in game store? Issues like these can/could have easily been fixed if this pack either didn’t exist or if at least some of the items from the Battle Pass would have been shown because then you get a better picture of what items you can get by buying the pack. I think Overwatch should be like Valorant and Fortnite where you can only buy what you can see. In both Valorant and Fortnite you can only buy a battle pass after it’s released in the game and not before it’s released and hope it will be good. I have the same thoughts about the 2000 currency because we haven’t even seen any OW2 skins or items that could be bought with the currency.

That’s how preorders work sadly.

There will be enough stuff in the passes to justify the cost. Not everything will be for every person.

For example, the end of the first pass is the Genji mythic skin… I don’t care for that, and isn’t worth a penny to me as I never play Genji. But someone else will love it and see it as worth the cost of the pass on it own.

Horses for courses.

I did. Cuz i tought you needed to pay for Overwatch 2. i did not read it correct and was maybe a bit under influence of some weeds. but that is not the hickup… i bought it on accident. if i knew the game was free i would not have done this stupid buy.
