I’m trying to play Overwatch 2 but when I try to link my phone number it says it’s already in use. I have one old account I never really used for anything and I checked that one already, no phone number linked. How can I play the game when someone else has taken my number?
Did you try something like “forgot password” and see if you’re able to get some information by SMS?
Unfortunately Customer Service cannot bypass this problem. Before the mass kick at Customer Support there was Live Chat, they could help before.
Best gamble is to either try to see if you can get information on the account that is using your phone number, or open up a ticket*. Guaranteed no GM will be able to help you out in the forums.
*: average ticket waiting time on phone number issues is over 24 hours. My ticket took about 27 (copy paste from FAQ), a reply to my reply took about 36 I think?

this can happen when your phone number was in use by someone else before they cancelled their plan and your provider then assigned it to you. In this case, please contact a Game Master in order to get the number removed. Please keep in mind though that due to the increased volume, there may be delays when it comes to ticket processing.
