Still no way to mute in-game voice commands

I have seen it requested before and i figured i should bring it up again. The way some people seem to like to spam the same voice command over and over and over again the entire game can be really annoying and frankly, after hearing the same thing 500 times in a row i just quit the game and ask myself why im still playing this game. it has happened several times just this last week, i enter a game and theres a group of maybe 3 kids playing together who have picked the most annoying voice-command they can find and then just spam it for the entire game to be annoying.
how is it that its still not possible to mute voice commands? and even if theres an option to reduce the in-game voice volume, its completely useless lol. who designed this? turning the in-game voice volume to 0 removes all sounds from ultimates and everything, feels like im playing blindfolded.
it would be so easy to just let the mute include the voice commands as well, i really dont see why its not already implemented.

Been suggested so many times but they either don’t care or don’t listen. Basically at the start of the game i am asking why there is no option to disable it. Together with why the hell there is also all chat when HotS don’t have it but this game does just to please the trolls.

There is an option to mute it though…

Muting a player does in fact stop the constant stream of audio messages from them, including objective pings and ult statuses. I’d suggest you go for that option and if they start wailing in text about “y u no heal” or “lul no wombo combo” you can tell them you muted them for spamming.

The possible loss or at least their inconvenience will in some cases turn them around…

But yeah, there’s been an outcry for the ability to mute specific things since forever.

Made that thread over on the old forums last year and it got good responses as well, and since then we’ve gotten this mute option, but no real specific solution to excessive spamming of irrelevant things like voice lines, yet (Granted, there’s bigger fish to fry first, development wise).

No, what I meant was that you can mute voicelines.

I can’t exactly tell you what it was called again but it’s already something that you can do

That option includes things like ultimate statuses, heal requests and acknowledgements as far as I’m aware.

Yea, but it’s there.

Also those messages still come up in chat.

Between managing my position, checking the team positioning, knowing the enemy positioning, knowing what both teams are doing, keeping an eye on the objective and my vitals, there’s no time to check who’s blabbing about what by reading a chat when it’s flooded with garbage.

That’s exactly why there’s audio cues and that’s why, in most cases, muting someone this way can impact their game tremendously.

I am deaf to your screams for heals or your ultimate status because people who don’t spam buttons still come through in the game UI and through sound cues, and those are the people who’ll get their heals and combos

I can do it though

I mean if you don’t try it then I don’t see a point in you trying to say that I’m wrong. Also the game ui will still display people’s calls, the only thing that’s muted is their voice.

Not saying you’re wrong, I’m saying that without a character’s voice calling me to attention of something, chances are I’m too busy doing my job to look at the chat and notice the request. Doubly true when I don’t have that person in line of sight.

I can only speak for myself and those in my direct environment, of course, but most of those I play with agree that thanks to audio cues chat simply doesn’t need any unnecessary attention when you’re waist deep in a team fight and if you get yourself muted because of spamming audio lines, you’d put yourself at a disadvantage in my personal experience.

i.e.:
"Why did you not ult with me when I spammed my ultimate status?"

  • Well, I muted you, because you spammed alot
    "LoL don’t you read chat?"
  • Considering everyone’s voice command shows up there and I was being shot at by Widow and chased by Tracer while trying to kill supports in their backline, no, I did not sit down with a cup of tea to leisurely scroll through the chat to see if you were ready to go, shouldn’t have spammed voice lines, buddy
