So i just had the usual troll screaming that he was getting no healing off me when i was on gold and he was diving on the point alone, he constantly screamed i’d be getting 5 reports and called me all manner of things that would get you banned from the forums and then after the match i get 4 endorsements, how about when you see that kind of behaviour you just speak up, all it would take it one person going “they’re healing me just fine” and it would completely change my experience in game. Let’s just work together to bring people up instead of just sitting there watching others get torn down for nothing. It was QP anyway why you mad?!?!
This!
Let’s just support everyone in need and create a wonderful time to enjoy this game together.

It’s called the Bystander effect, it’s a social phenomenon where people are less likely to help someone when other people are present. The more people, the more that this effect is reinforced.
Lesson number 1 for noobs: never curse the healer. No healz for trash talkers, 0killwidows, charging reins, throwers and alikes. Make them use healthpacks.
So, in other words, throw the game when people insult you.
Yeah… no, breaking the CoC yourself is never an option, no matter what motive you have.
The only result you’ll get is reports by the same toxic players because you were grieving.
Yep, you are free to do that, if you want to lose and be at an even greater disadvantage.
On top of that, you’d just get some reports on yourself, and remember the report system is fully automated meaning that sooner and later it will matter.
You can’t just refuse to heal someone based off of their performance !
If someone is giving you a hard time in-game then mute them report them and move on.
Keep doing your job well.
Best thing to do is mute them and send a report if they are getting offensive. There is nothing else you can do in that situation other than keep playing your game.
Why you play healer in QP? When people pick 5 dps, either leave or pick 6th dps.
And also, in comp happened to me many times … When someone roasts guy X who is playing healer, and I’m like “X guy is ok, he;s healing”, then whoever started roast will turn attention to me. Now, that;s not a problem, but the guy X, healer that I defended, turns on me as well. So, now I have 2 people roasting me(one mad guy and healer who is thinking “phew, I’m of the hook”), which again wouldn’t be a bad thing if this abomination of reporting system wouldn’t exists. Since it exists …
People are scared of reports. If you talk/write you increase your chances of being reported. So, better to stay silent, then be reported.
Well, you can’t compare “real life” behavior(where every conflict can become physical), with internet(where everyone is anonymous, and can say/write whatever without real consequences).
But might be similar behavior … If you speak up, you increase chances of getting roasted and getting reported. Why would anyone do that?
It’s not. If you mute them, they’ll just start rallying others to report you. And they might. And chances are … they will if you don’t defend yourself(you can’t see/hear what the guy is saying/writing).
That’s why we need scoreboard, or in game stats or something. Anything.
It doesn’t have anything to do with conflict per se, something as simple as calling an ambulance for someone can be halted due to this phenomenon.
Don’t know how this would affect the phenomenon in any way.
As stated above, it’s not about conflict per se, it’s about a herd mentality of ‘‘someone else will surely do it’’
Blockquote
Best not to fight fire with fire. A scoreboard is a possible option but seeing as how people react to medals it will most likely cause a witch hunt.
TBH when someone is “debating” with someone else just leave them be.
No need to involve everyone and no one can point out who’s right and wrong in the end since no one can say for sure who’s playing right or wrong.
It makes it even more pronounced. The bystander effect is about being anonymous in a crowd and not feeling the basic responsibility because of it. Being anonymous in the internet makes it easier.
As to the OP - many people in gold don’t use mic, and helping others out in an argument via typing is pretty disctracting, because you can only type while dead which isn’t necessarily is when something is happening that’s worth pointing out.
Also you should consider that the toxic people are toxic by virtue of selfishness and lack of empathy for the most part. This in turn means that they are the first ones to leave or actually throw a game, so it can often be a difficult situation to handle. Were I in a situation like that, I’d probably offer neutral support for the healer in question and a call to keep calm, because starting a fight amongst the team never helped anyone win.
I literally at no point said throw the game, i never eluded to that at all you’ve completely made that up, i said stick up for others, literally just pointing out the healer isn’t doing a bad job is enough
just don’t be toxic lol it’s easy just don’t do it
I think you got that wrong. It was a response of NLD who suggested to not heal trash talkers.
Oddly enough, it didn’t show that it was a reply to NLD, most possibly because that reply was posted right after their post.
Sorry for that confusion. It really wasn’t directed at you.
ah ok no worries then
