Worst thing for a comp game of any kind has always been random elements.
First off I dont mind widowmaker cause she’s not that random at all, she’s fine.
Now the single worst random element in OW is Hanzo with “headshots” that wouldnt qualify as headshots in any other game than ow cause they did not, even close hit the head.
In OW2 you blizzard notonly kept this crap in the game you even added more.
I just had a match where in the deciding last fight the hanzo “headshot” 4 ppl in a row simply by spamming arrows somewhere, which in no way he couldve been able to turn those into headshots except for random luck bs endorsed by blizz coders who think it’s funny. These were not even close to headshots they were like a frigging METER AWAY FROM ANYONE’S HEAD.
Fix the game and make headshots actual REAL headshots or remove headshots from hanzo if you are too stupid to fix them.
Overwatch has always been rather forgiving with hitboxes, try healing the bots in the Training grounds with Ana and you’ll see you can “hit” them quite far from where they would actually hit. Similarly, in OW1 Genji’s deflect was about the size of a Reinhardt’s shield. Roadhog’s hook is about 4 times the size it appears to be. Same with head/body shots, they are and always have been forgiving for everyone. This same luck can be abused by both sides, play Kiriko and spam kunais, I guarantee you that you will hit some headshots without even throwing at someone and sometimes there’s noone there when you throw the kunai only to get a headshot on some unfortunate enemy. This has always been the case for all projectiles, they are very forgiving with accidental hits but much more challenging with intentional (long-range) hits whereas hitscan is the opposite, extremely unforgiving in terms of luck but very forgiving with intentional shots.
Mercy has the most forgiving hit box. It’s laughable.
It’s almost like they assume mercy players can’t aim and need help.
Yes first I mentioned Kiriko when I said “and you added even more bs” but then I edited her out cause didnt wanna sound toooo negative LMAO
On the bright side at least hogs infamous hook 1.0 isn’t around anymore
Yet he’s somehow more op now than ever…
Agreed my friend, agreed.
I get vietnam flashbacks from hook 1.0…
You and me both my friend, but it’s true hog is very powerful now much more than back then
That ult charge change they gave him in OW1 was the killer.
I agree but his strength I’d say definitely comes from his ability to delete people with relative ease.
Yeah. Given that they nerfed Rein charge damage to reduce the chance of one shots (because they even said tanks should be able to one shot consistently)… Then left hog as he was is laughable.
I guess they rightly assumed that with out the one shot, he’d be utterly pointless.
Maybe keep it. Reduced the amount of healing from breather, and reduce the length of the hook a bit.
He should be strong in a brawl, not in poke.
I think he would be less valuable if he lost the one shot but yes the range is too much, in a few rare occasions I have seen hogs hook pharah out of the sky, I have also done this myself and forced the pharah to swap, that should be my job. Also I do agree that his take a breather self healing is a bit too high, it might not have been as bad if he could heal his allies slightly like he could in the one experimental patch in overwatch 1 maybe.
That’s not a Hanzo issue that’s an issue with the hit boxes in this game in general. Aside from a few heroes they’re absolutely frigging colossal. It’s not rare to watch a kill cam and see yourself die to a melee attack when you weren’t even on the screen.
