Strange things happening with low ping

I have around 35-40ms ping in most games on EU servers (from the UK), and I’m witnessing strange things happening nearly ever game.

For instance, Rein charges; as tracer, I can blink out of the way of them at the last second, for the blink to “recall”, and me teleport into the centre of the Rein’s pin.

Also playing as Tracer, I’ve been slept 3 times today so far (in about as many games) with which I’ve physically watched the sleep dart projectile go off the left side of my screen, and disappear but then I’m still slept? Surely if I’m watching the dart go off the left side (or even right side) of the screen, the dart has missed. Her guns are shown in the bottom centre of the screen, so either tracer runs around with the guns coming from her breasts and she has extremely large arms, shoulders and body that protrude so far out that a dart flying off the side of the screen still hits… or there’s something wrong with my connection to games that just magnetises bull crap?

Also I know Ashe is broken… but her aiming is so inconsistent. You can aim directly at someone, fire and the shot still misses. It’s like the crosshair is behind where you’re aiming when you move. I don’t really understand how it’s possible but it just doesn’t always work. I can land decent shots with mccree (which is basically a scopeless ashe anyway) but with ashe it just seems insanely off.

That’s called … “let’s place EU servers in France only, and then match everybody with everybody, regardless of ping. Who will notice…”

Mmm … what difference does that make? There are 12 players and they all need to have their inputs/outputs synced to server. Input/output doesn’t get discarded, or “skill” would depend on ping, lower-ping == higher skill … which is not how games work, obviously.
If one guy have high-ping it impacts everyone in the room. If one guy has network issues, it impacts everyone in the room. Especially when server is under high-load, it de-syncs, and client prediction can’t keep up with server events anymore …

I’m sure that’s not just the problem. The game reports my ping at 35ms, yet it plays like I’m at 245ms.
In the last game I played… I died to a deadeye after being behind a wall for at least a second and a half (and I could see the mccree through the walls with widow ult… he was about 1-2m off peaking the wall).

There’s no way that is 35ms delay.

30 ping here as well. Its favor the attacker, thing is it gets worse the bigger the ping. Like if your opponet has 70 ping and kills you it will feel so off for you since it like stacks wrth the favor the attacker thingy. More EU servers will help a lot for this.

Mate, 35ms means that your info is hitting server and back(not necessarily true, depending what they’re actually showing under “ping”) in that time. If you think that you have advantage over the guy with 100ms ping - you’re wrong. Server needs to be synced for both you and the guy with 100ms ping, that’s why there’s something called lag-compensation. If server would take info as it arives, then everybody with lower ping would just kill everybody with higher ping, and higher ping players would have a feeling of being lag-switch-killed…
Meaning, favor the shooter - in that Mcree’s client, you were not behind the wall, he saw you, shot you, favor the shooter, you die. Server was desynced, your client showed you prediction, which was wrong, server did reconciliation(it can’t go back in time and undo prediction) and you died.
I was kinda writing how the server-client reconciliation works, and all that crap, but hey - if you want to know more, there’s the internet ;). Also, most of the FPS games do favor the shooter, and it’s not favor the lower ping player, like most of the people on US servers will try to convience you, but favor the shooter, whoever the shooter is.

So in what you’re saying is “favour the shooter” is just “favour the guy with the bad internet connection” and having a low-ping is now a disadvantage…

Either way, I’m kind of sick of this disadvantage… Every single game, I’m dying to utter horse crap. Whether it’s a Hanzo that fires arrows backwards, a Widow that shoots through walls, a Mccree with a flashbang range the length of the Britain, or a Dva Bomb that kills you through Payloads, walls and shields… it’s something that needs to be fixed.
