Stuck in competetive rank that is not my level when playing

I’ve been playing this game for years and had good experience, but lately, the competetive system is not working like it should be. i’m stuck in a deep hole that i can’t get out of. i’ve gone from plat to silver and have no chance getting back up there again because i always end up in competetive games ranked from silver-gold. the players there are not on my level when it comes to the game and basically saboutages my competetive stats. im tired of it and we need a change because this removes the fun of competetive games when you can’t even win them

You don’t have “competitive stats”. It’s purely just wins and losses.

If you feel like you’re now too low, you need to figure out how you can tip the scales and have a greater impact in matches.

There is no system that will keep you too low. You have to earn it (or cheat, if you’re a scumbag lol)

Is that so, Roku? - 1500+ posts full of excuses.

Excuse this without sounding like a politician with severe mythomania:

I was ONE game from reaching gold tonight. I just needed a few more points to tip over.
What do you think happened?
3 games in a row against smurfs and/or higher-ranked players.
One team was a full smurf premade, and I know that for a fact.
The enemy teams had plat players, while my team had bronze and players on completely fresh accounts.
Completely clueless players, semi-AFK, low-performing, feeding etc.
I’m talking about players that had like 1500 damage when their dps had 7000+ each in the first round. Or a healer that ended a game with under 2000 heals, while their healers had around 8000-10000 healing each.

I could kill most of them, even 1v1 and I fought hard to make an impact, but my team were not even near the other teams.

It was simply three games that were completely out of my hands.
Three games where I could basically only spectate, and see my rank drop like a rock each game.

And don’t even try to convince me or anyone else that those games do not exist.
But let’s not go there and try to discuss that, I’d just prove you wrong and then I would get suspended or silenced for it.

My question to you:
Lets say that everything is working as intended, 100% fair for everyone.
Then what’s up with all these streaks?

Why can’t the MM-system just find 10 players of equal skill every game?
It’s the same the other way around. I can have a 5 game win streak against deranking bots and random clueless individuals that my team steamroll.

But I never gain as much rank from winning those games, as I drop when losing against smurfs and other unbalanced games.

Why does it have to be streak at all? What purpose do these streaks have?

You make this comment, clearly aimed at discrediting me rather than making a point, whilst then writing a long list of excuses.

I don’t make excuses when I lose games. There’s always something I could have done better. If everyone in the lobby focuses on what they could have done better each game, we’ll have a lovely time.

You played, you lost games. Done.

Maybe take you own advice before telling your tales of woe…

You lost some games in a video game. That’s it.

No, dear Roku.

You either don’t get the very simple issue that I’m talking about, or you dodge the questions.

I’m talking about streaks with lost games because of aspects that are out of your control.

Smurf premades, leavers, fresh players in your team, playing against plat players and so on.

And this thing of “streaks” is something we don’t need to discuss, they simply exist, and they are sometimes forced. End of story.

I’ll rephrase the question for you, since you have such hard time with your dyslexia.
Read and reply to this, nothing else:

Lets say I win 3-4 games in a row against full silver teams.
All of a sudden, I get 3,4,5 or 6 games in a row against higher ranked players that are plat+.

This is how the MM works, and I wonder why?

Why can’t I be matched with silvers as long as I’m in silver, and when I climb to gold, I get to play gold players?

And why does the MM put me in X-impossible games in a row, to force losses?

A lot of word soup to blame the match maker for something it didn’t do. Cool.

I’ll go find where I shared on the US forums about a similar topic and leave you with that… It’s about the myth of losers queue, but covers topics you can extrapolate here.

Maybe, stop being a snowflake and accept that people have different opinions, and sometimes you’re wrong.

Technical Perspective:

  1. Matchmaking Complexity: Modern matchmaking systems are highly complex and consider numerous factors such as player skill, role preferences, and queue times. While it’s possible to tweak these systems to account for player streaks, it’s generally in the developers’ interest to maintain balanced matches to keep the player base engaged and satisfied.
  2. Adaptive Algorithms: Some games use adaptive algorithms that adjust player MMR more aggressively after a series of losses or wins to quickly recalibrate a player’s perceived skill level. This can sometimes feel like a “losers queue” but is actually an effort to restore balance.

Conclusion:

While the idea of a “losers queue” is a common topic in gaming communities, there is no concrete evidence that such a system is deliberately implemented by game developers. Most claims rely on personal experiences and anecdotal evidence, while developers and statistical analyses suggest that perceived patterns are more likely due to natural variations in matchmaking and psychological biases.

Lol. Yes, telling people to “get lost” on a public forum… that will work well.

Tip. Set me to ignore. Stop blaming others for your inability to do things yourself.
