Suggested McCree FlashBang change?

I think we can all agree that there are enough stun effect characters in the game. That’s why I think that McCree a character who has an ability called “flash bang” should no longer stun people but should actually blind the target instead of being stunned then getting destroyed by right click.

The flash bang should at least last for a second before fading off.

Furthermore being blinded would be a lot more fun then frustrating then plan old getting made to stand still for a good second then get deleted in milliseconds.

In my eyes this seems like a fix to his flash and will actually be a “Flash Bang” than a stun grenade

Thanks for taking the time to read.

Yup agreed. Some players with terrible aim get away with playing him because they just disable the other person with stun and shoot em. Nothing worse than those FFA Mccrees who cant help but try to close the distance to stun you because they cant aim.

Uh when you see a Mecree, don’t stand near him and prepare for flash bang?

He is fine. We don’t need another “rework”

Just avoid close-medium range or bait it out with a bubble.

Also, getting blinded would be a lot more annoying, infuriating, and rage-inducing then not being able to move for 0.75 seconds.

“Instead of stopping the target from moving it should completely incapacitate them for a full second.”

The level of dogma people have against CC is absolutely ridiculous. Just stop and think about this nonsense.

I hope heroes that are finally in a decent place won’t get immediately changed again.

Noaims like moira, sym, mei are much much worse…

Moira has a large “spread” on her weapon, like a shotgun, its not a lock on ability it only appears that way because of the animation of her “beam”… so she requires aim, “granted she is forgiving” but still requires aim

Sym, since rework no longer has “lock on” on her weapon, its a straight beam… which requires pinpoint tracking just like zarya… again requires aim… and very decent tracking ability

Mei, has no lock on and never has, in fact her “beam” has a delay depending on how far away the target is because it is slow moving… meaning you have to have good tracking ability, and the ability to lead your target to get full effectiveness out of her freeze beam…

your argument is based on false information and bias… none of the heros you mentioned require “no aim”… in fact I would argue hanzo requires less aim than Moira, sym and mei… because you just spam corners and get headshots

but I digress

i think the odd thing with stun is that it does not seam to be a actual flash bang granade as far as i can tell… its just like cowboy magic…

can you even genji deflect it? you can with junkrats granades… or tranquilizer darts…

i’m not sure if it works on McCree…

Also maybe a smoke granade would be better… it could combine well with reaper too allowing both to get in closer range more safely…

it could also server as a soft counter vs snipers also possibly another way of making it easier to spot cheaters in replay

I’m also really curious how that mechanic would play out in the game…

I mean you can do something similar with hanzos ult already… though it does not last that long…

When ever i see a Mccree i avoid him due to the logic of his flashbang.

All these heroes has one thing in common: Right click for the win… You dont need to aim, just point in general direction…

Sym even has her sentry turrets to aim for her… Same with torb…

… as apposed to?

Genji, Q, then LMB + Space + shift = win?
Widow, LMB on enemy head = win?
hanzo, LMB at any random corner = win?

every hero even the highest “skill ceiling” apparently… heros can be described in an “ohh just do this simple thing and win”… way…

there is a lot more to moria, mei and sym than just raw mechanical proficiency… moira is about resource management… use up all your healing Pi55 spray before the enemy push and you cant heal… use you orb in the wrong way and its wasted, choosing whether to heal or dmg with your orb, etc etc…

mei and sym are area denial heros… they’re job is to control the map which requires massive game awareness, map knowledge, and the balls to stubbornly try to corral an enemy team into the position you want them in without them just going “bruh!” and W + MB1 into you running rough shot over your team

do you know how difficult it is trying to keep a determined hanzo, widow, genji or soldier off of the high ground as mei?

do you know how difficult it is trying to intimidate a reinheart into going where you want him to as sym?

probably not, because you lack the skillset to play these heros efficiently

P.S mechanical aiming and movement skill is not the be all end all of “skill” in OW

stun is the only way to counter high speed characters

I like stuns. Their main counters are kids and losers, anyway.

yeah and look at how many stun characters there is now
