So in this dying game I’d like to know after pressing “Play” what game mode provides shortest wait time till start.
I’m pretty much OK of any game mode but I don’t like waiting 5 minutes and cancel searching to switch to another mode to found out that’s more than 5 minutes also.

Matchmaking needs it’s time to find and compose the right teams so we can have something close to 50% winrate.
Chance of winning. Not win rate. (You have same MMR as someone, the chance of beating them is 50% as far as they’re concerned)
50% win rate is a natural result of consistently accurate match making and a player not dramatically improving.
Ok, so if the game already knows everything (my performance, number and performance of available players in specific game mode) it could predict wait time before game start for me any time and any mode. Right?
Nope. It doesn’t know your performance, the match maker isn’t looking at your stats or past matches. Just the MMR number.
So, no, it couldn’t predict your wait time. Even if it did look at that it wouldn’t be able to. Hence why the times noted are estimates and not predictions. If suddenly a bunch of people of similar MMR to you hit queue at the same time, you’ll suddenly get a quick game even if the estimate was a little longer.
