The amount of time to reach level 200 is ridiculous!

I’ve played everyday of this season and haven’t missed a day doing daily and weekly challenges and I’m still not at level 200 which is utterly insane. I calculated that it will take 35.5 hours playing the game non stop excluding the time waiting in queue (I always queue for all roles) to level up from level 175 (which I’m at the moment) to level 200.
For someone who also play Fortnite occasionally, they are better in every single front when it comes to monetization and time spent to get cosmetics. Fortnites most premium skins goes for $7-9 compared to OW2 $19. Fortnites BP are a one time buy compared to OW2 that you need to renew every season if you want the skins. Fortnite gets constantly updated compared to OW2 where it feels even slower than before.

It’s really sad to see the downgrade from a much more generous and better monetization system in OW1 to OW1.5. Outside of the huge montization issues and the ways to earn cosmetics, the game is fun to play and it’s really sad to see how the game has become and the big issues with the game makes me who have played since the start of OW1 start to lose interest in the game sadly.

OW2 can’t even make it easier to grind the BP when there’s not as much time left. Again, in Fortnite you can level up to 200 within just a week at the end of the season since they add new quests all the time so that people who haven’t had time finish the BP can do so. They also don’t lock abilities in the game!
Heroes shouldn’t be locked behind pay and grind walls in a competative game!

Yeah true, I actually played like 60 hours (ignoring daily and weekly challenges tbf) and I’m lvl 105 xd

a) I’m pretty sure that’s the point. That’s why the last 120 tiers only get you titles. They are meant as a reward for people who go the extra mile.

b) It’s not that much time. I have like 100 hours in comp and maybe 10 or 20 hours in QP/Arcade. That’s what, 2 hours a day? Let’s say 2.5 hours to account for queue time.

Nah bc the main thing is gettin level 80. Who even cares that much ab some bad titles. I played not to much and got level 150 so i dont think its hard to get 200. Its meant for hsrd grinding

You’re using ‘everyday’ wrong.

Comparing with Fortnite is a little off, Fortnite is little more than a colourful leech. Compare it to Warzone, as that’s the model it’s following

I have a 38 hour work week and I managed to get it. It’s simple math (or not):
You can earn 9000 xp with daily missions everyday. 55,000 for every week (Weekly missions) and then the 1000+ per comp match. (QP and Arcade earn you around 700-1100xp per match).

A Season lasts roughly around 2 months. 60 days of 9000 XP = 540,000 XP = 54 levels
8 weeks of 55,000 = 440,000 which is 44 levels. In total you can get 98 levels almost to the second tier of the titles. For the first 3 you need 30 levels (10 per title). 4 & 5 are in total 30 levels (15 per title) 6 & 7 are 40 levels (20 per title) and the last one is 25 levels.

Since you’d already reach the first 2 (Like 2 levels off come on) you can ignore those. In total you’d need to do 110 levels on your own. Which shouldn’t be to hard. If you’d atleast played a few matches each day. I only played at evenings for 2 hours and sometimes I had a free weekend. Still managed to reach it to 200. Not to mention I missed about 2 weeks of playing because I got bored. 1,5 month time and still managed to do it. I did get it on the last day though so if you skip 3 weeks you either need to play everyday or you won’t get it, but if you do not have work, no duties outside and you can play all day you’d do it in about 2 weeks tops.

Also if you have battlepass you get 20% extra, with a win extra xp, consecutive match win (10%) you can get a lot of XP everytime you finish a match.

Correct me if I’m wrong, dont sue me if my math is off.

You’re totally right. The main issue is that I don’t play that much every day and mostly just do challenges. Some times people have school, job or something else that you sometimes need to prioritize so in some periods you have lots of time while in others it’s more limited. To level up to 200 you’re expected to play probably 2.5 hours a day every single day if you don’t play with a friend.
Playing with a friend while having the BP will give you a 44% XP boost.
People don’t ask about if it’s worth it to play a season in Fortnite if they have been late to it because Fortnite adds challenges all the time and xp boost month at the end of the season so that everyone have the time to finish the BP. OW2 did add XP boost weekeds for some days which is great but that’s not enough and I think they should just run it through a whole month instead like Fortnite does. Adding more Weekly or daily challenges towards the end of a season would also be great.
From a business stand of point I think it would just lead to more BP purchases if people would be sure that they would be able to play enough to get to level 80 if they start playing the season a little later or if they didn’t purchase the BP earlier (not having the 20% BP boost).

wich is a terrible reward. The battlepass is small and the rwards in it are not even good. The bonus levels should reward tokens so people can actually save up to buy a skin of their choice

Maybe, but then people would complain about being forced to play too much or some bs. In this case you can’t do anything right (I still remember people crying about the thanksgiving double XP event because of this reason.). Personally I think it’s ok for the higher tiers to only get you “prestige”. If anything in the BP gives you tokens, it should be 1-80, not 80-200.

I’m going to be honest, I just got the 200 levels because out of all that it was probably going to be my last time ever reaching it anyway. I’m incredibly bored with Overwatch at this point. The devs have been messing up balancing since Overwatch 2 came out. Ramattra was an exciting new tank with so much potential, but your better off picking a different tank anyway.

Then again, the titles are seen as extra’s and that’s probably not going to change. Even if you look it from a business perspective they’re not going to change the battlepass, because if they did they wouldn’t earn the maximum out of it before this game dies aswell like Overwatch 1.

They could have prevented it from dying if they had a one time purchase BP, updated the game more andlowered down premium skins prices to what Fortnite sells them for ($7-9). Sadly the people working at Blizzard making these prices doesn’t seem to understand what they are doing.’
There’s a reason to why people are so much more happier with Fall Guys F2P transition compared to OW2 were no one is happy with the prices of the cosmetics.

Finally, you’re being honest for once. What took you so long?

That’s a figure of speech and tbh I feel like you’re just riding the hype train until this game is dead. Which is completely fine, like honestly be my guest. I just have my opinions. Some opinions are factual though there are glaring issues, but talking to you is like talking to a wall.

And don’t get me wrong, I want this game to survive. I love this game, I haven’t put hundards of hours if I hated the game. I want this game to survive, but it’s so frustrating to see what turn this game is taking.

Sure, it’s factual you are bored of OW2. But I think any game gets boring after a while. For you, that point is now. Does that make the game ‘bad’ for everyone? Absolutely not.

And my factual opinion is that the game is very enjoyable, and I don’t see myself getting bored of it in the near future. And when it does become boring, I accept it and move on too. Too bad just because I get happiness of the game right now, I’m called a fanboy. Interestingly when you still had fun, you were not a fanboy at all.

I don’t like overhyping games. I’ve learned my lessons from the past and I’ve probably made dozens of posts defending Blizzard, but that one-way mirror broke fast after the release of Overwatch 2.

I respect someone that can discuss stuff that doesn’t completely go bonkers when my opinion triggers them. So thanks. I also didn’t mean to call you a fanboy. I just know from a lot of people that when you’re new or still want to believe so bad in a game the opinions become a bit too much of the same.

But let’s be honest here. Overwatch 2 is still very popular. Many people play it day in day out. Good evidence of this, is how you are statistically very unlikely to meet the same guy in a match twice. So how overhyped is Overwatch 2, really?

And I really get it how some of these problems are affecting you and that you may just really dislike the game now. But I also think those problems are not going to be enough to completely make you like the game again. Will you really enjoy the game day in day out when you get your right rewards, and they balance Roadhog and so on?
I wonder maybe you have just seen enough, and it’s time for a break for a while.

I’ve been playing Season 1 to completion. Level 200 and all, I’ve been in multiple games where I met the same people constantly and sure Overwatch 2 is definitely pulling numbers now that it got it’s second wind, but I’m just wondering how long that lasts.

Maybe I’m just pessimistic, maybe I don’t want to see the good things to flip my own argument around. Who knows.

Couldn’t care less about some titles personally. Is it really that big of a deal?
