The counting of healing

Hello people of the forums. I want to talk about healing and not about how people perform as a healer but the counting of healing.
To explain a little about this if I play a moira for example and I use my left hand ability to heal someone this counts as healing you do or if a mercy uses her staff on someone to heal it also counts up as healing and that is fine in my opinion.
But what I find weird is that if a roadhog uses a healing ability purely focused upon himself this also counts as healing or if a reaper or any champion really picks up a health pack this also counts as healing which i think is weird and should not be the case.

What i am trying to say is if a support heals someone then that is healing but healing yourself is not healing not at least in teamwork sense you only heal yourself. So because of this system a roadhog could get a gold medal healing purely for healing himself.

Do you people agree with me should this be changed or do you people think this is fine no problem what so ever?

Health packs do not count as healing.

Healing yourself IS healing because it’s a player choice that increases the team’s health. If you can’t get gold healing on Mercy because you have a Roadhog then you are beyond atrocious at the game, to the point that I refuse to believe it’s true.

I kind of agree, for a purely stats basis. But the there is the argument that it doesn’t really matter what numbers you’re producing. As long as you’re winning (or having fun, whatever you’re reason for playing is)

But, it is a good indicator that something isn’t right (or so well that you’re rolling to the point of taking barely any dmg) if your Hog has anything more than bronze.

Well to be fair I think the “team” heals and the “solo” heals should be seperated from each other (purely for stat purposes) so that when you eventually come to the stat screen you can see the clear difference between the “team” healers and the “solo” healers.

And no healing yourself is not healing the team. you heal the team when someone else or yourself heals another teammate. if you yourself heal yourself then that is the only thing your doing is healing yourself.

I do think more detailed match stats, that you can go look at after the game would be pretty interesting.

I wouldn’t have them accessible during the match or during the end game bit. This community can’t be trusted. It will just be misinterpreted and used for flaming.

But adding it as a button next to the match in the replay viewer might be good for those that are interested in it.

But then there’d only BE two healers, unless someone went Soldier.

Healing yourself reduces the need for your healers to focus on you. When you’re playing Roadhog or Mei you aren’t meant to rely on your teammates constantly feeding you heals, you do it yourself so they can focus on healing the others.

This is very true.

But I always question the Hog that heals himself out of a fight when he could let him supports do the job. Which is a bigger part of his job. Face tank a little dmg, get healed. Build up support ults quickly

His self heal builds his own ult…

People will always use the tools they have been given to their own advantage.
But I would be a supporter if blizzard decided to add some more detailed stats to the game.
