Overwatch 1 used to be a great game, the game is in desperate need of 6v6, also the game needs a different way to determine game play rank. Right now a lot of players are being stuck in roles they shouldn’t be in, because other players lack the capability to play correctly and don’t participate in the way they should, healers should get a rank boost regardless just for the role they play, the devs to determine by work play performance, and not team play performance and this doesn’t work anymore.
Thank you
Agreed!
The MMR system is very flawed, and they don’t seem to know how to fix it. Same with their other games. Experiencing the same issues with WoW MMR. Playing people at 2.1k MMR when we’re 1800 rated, and winning easily, but getting next to no rating for it.
The system needs a complete rework.
It doesn’t.
It just needs tweaks.
The issues you have in games are not systems related.
there is no future for this game, I suggest everyone not take hopium and copium pills anymore. this game is not being managed right now, it is just rolling down to hill until it hits the bottom.
if you can’t accept it as it is now, it will not get any better. either leave or find another game. seriously, they will not make it better, they are unable to make it better, it is just a matter of capability.
it is still going on because it turned into a cash cow because of the skin sales. if there is someone who thinks the game has been better with the ow 2, I will kindly ask him/her, to tell me something better than before.
This is exactly why there is a future for this game.
It’s just no longer a game aimed at you, me, or many others.
OW is not next counter strike, it is an arcade game at best not suitable for real comp. It will bleed out until there is only core players left like what happened to OW1. People thinking this game has a different future are delusional.
but the future he is talking about not the future business-wise, gameplay-wise… if you take a look from a gamer’s perspective, there is no future.
That is all subjective.
It might not be for you, but it will be for others.
Next season, some DPS and Supports will have less HP. That is going to please some, annoy others.
Monthly average players was up for the last 3 months (probably be a little down this month as it is a dead season. Doubly dead with todays announcements). So I am not sure they have any worries right now.
well, it is far from being subjective as the game is far from his prime days. it will never be, again. The most criticized points in OW are its current gameplay and matchmaking, these also make it far from being a good game.
you can not talk about monthly average players, instead of the Steam platform (where OW’s reviews are terrible for sure), Bnet is not generous with the active player numbers for any of their games.
like, do we know how many new players OW is attracting right now? in my own chamber, people who are back to try how it is right now, old players in short.
I am not saying I disagree with you… But you are presenting your opinion that you don’t like the game as much as you used to as fact that it is declining.
Player numbers are up on steam too. Jumped up with the Season 9 changes, and maintained it. (relative as the Steam population is TINY).
Create a new account and see how many games you have loaded with new players. There is a surprisingly large number.
But even then, I’d imagine this season has seen a slow down. The early mid-season patch didn’t come with big changes, and immediately told everyone it was going to be weeks without any changes. Usual thing with F2P games, big peaks and troughs with content and patches.
That’s one of my points. Steam numbers are not an indicator on this matter, can not be and Bnet is not presenting similar data publicly so we can not say player numbers are up or down, that can not be an argument.
I have some alts. I play occasionally with them, what I stumble upon tho, mostly bot accounts to sell farmed accounts. They move absurdly on the map, hitting the walls and trying to walk past the walls, diving in, dying, and doing the same as long as they are back in base, cleanse, rinse, repeat.
I know we are not far away in general thoughts but where we separate is, as I also accept that the game is still going on and probably will be for a long time, but at what cost? The majority of its remaining player base complaining about the recent shape of the game. Even they have had to step back (kinda) stubbornness of their 6v6 decision.
I am not saying the game is dying but declining in the gameplay-sense and will be declining in the future.
It isn’t but the server data is out there. The console data is out there.
That is just you not liking the game as much any more. The game is on old boy now. Play other games. It isn’t worth worrying even a drop about OW. Play it when you’re having fun, play something else when you’re not. Don’t be like the guy below, just constantly angry about everything.
I’ve been having great fun chilling with F1 Manager last week or so.
Yes, obviously. All of my comments are my own, but what I say next to it, the majority of its remaining player base thinks like me. I haven’t seen people happy about the game’s current shape. That includes Reddit, that includes Twitter, and Discord rooms. So, of course, I am biased towards that opinion of mine.
Yet, I still play the game as I still see it as a fast and casual arcade shooter when I play solo. I do play casually though, not as hardcore as the first years of the OW and only QP. That doesn’t mean I enjoy its current shape (as well as other people). I am not playing OW with any of my friends, as they don’t like it anymore. They prefer to play Valorant or PUBG. I think that also explains I play other games very often. My main game has been World of Warcraft for 20 years anyway lol
As I said, OW is my go-to solo, fast-paced, casual arcade shooter and when I am sick of it, I am giving it a break.
People like you usually miss a point, not all critics mean we hate the game. I loved the game, I enjoyed it for many years. I would love to see it in its prime again but realistically I know it is not possible and it is not because it can’t be that good again, with its current management it looks not possible. Maybe things will change in the future.
Honestly, I haven’t seen a “Server data” thing before. It would be good to have a look at it if you can provide a link, to have an understanding of what it tells. Server data can be anything. So I keep my comment on it until I see one.
Don’t know why my comment was removed as I said nothing that broke CoC, but thanks again for abusing the report system.
The issues I have in game ARE system related. You don’t even know, yet just make assumptions, as usual. The system needs a rework, as MMR is completely broken.
Agree. I’ve no idea why either, don’t remember it saying anything of note. But if it got removed, it clearly wasn’t quite in line with the rules.
And, as always. I didn’t flag it. I read it and ignored it.
But it’s probably best not to worry about people doing exactly what you’ve just done. It looks a little odd.
That is an assumption that it’s “broken”. You have no data to back this up. The ones who do, would act if it was “broken”.
Either way, you’re getting a rank reset next season. So people can pretend that makes a difference.
You can’t claim that it was outside of steamcharts which represents a tiny minority of the player base and have no relevance to anything outside of Steam.
Though i’d like to see you back up your claim with actual, solid proof for once.
From my experience in marketing and sales, it’s pretty much objective right now, since there is zero incentives for people (Especially new players) to keep playing outside of hope. Hope that the game will get better, one day. There’s even less incentives for those who quit when the game went from 6v6 to 5v5 to return until 6v6 is reintroduced again.
The cash shop is mostly supported only by cash whales and cash whales aren’t gonna be enough to keep the game running forever.
In order for this game to have a future, they need to re-structure the team itself, starting with management.
