Almost every time I queue for Copa Lucioball, it tells me “Long time to find a fair match.” Ok, understandable, even though my Lucioball rank isn’t that high. (About 2300)
But in most instances it takes less than 5 seconds to find a match. And since finding a fair one should have taken longer, the match I get into is probably incredibly unfair. And even when it does take a while to find, it sometimes still isn’t a fair match.
Another problem that arises from this unfairness in matchmaking is group balancing. I got in a game (that took 1 second to find despite saying it’ll take a while for it to be a fair one) and my two teammates were grouped together. Our enemies, on the other hand, were in a group all 3.
This is really unbalanced. A team where all people are together in a group is gonna be significantly more coordinated than a team divided into multiple groups. (And yes, I did lose that game, obviously.)
I know Lucioball is probably not Blizzard’s top-priority, since it’s only in the game for a small portion of the year, but it’s still really annoying and ruins the experience. I really hope this will get fixed by the next Summer Games or Anniversary.
