The new bastion "buffs"

since the new new buff for the not so popular hero bastion has been moved to the live servers i wanted to point out that overwatch kinda failed to buff him in any way.

i already know many said this before me and the update for bastion is not alot, not even really a buff for him but i do see what overwatch tried to do with him, to be able to stay alive longer and being able to stay further back rather then the frontline however this change is useless since there are too many flankers and dive heroes who can easily win against bastion in a 1v1, which is a major problem, it just takes 1 corner peeker like a mccree or ashe to force bastion to move and he is afterwards a easy target for the enemy, overwatch just failed to help bastion with the latest buff and we will probaly wont see any changes to him any soon.

my suggestion on what to do with bastion is, if he stays as an easy target as he is now to give him the old spread back which enables him to stay even further behind so the enemy needs to do more work to kill him or being able to headshot in sentry mode again, if those options are not an options something for his defense should be changed that he cant get killed from almost any flanker or dive hero

They said that his next inline for a rework. Might as well hope that it’ll be a good one. Not even sure why they buffed him pre-rework.

Probably because it was an inevitable change.

He doens’t need a buff hes already OP in bronze…

He needs a nerf in bronze.

Especially with a reinhardt or Orisa or both…

Stay behind a shield?

Yeah nerf a hero, cause the worst players in the game, cannot play the game. Great idea, why aren´t you balancing the game ???

idc if i the worst player i play for the and idc about high ranked player their selfish anyway.

Bastion def need a nerf in bronze.

Well the whole problem is, that if you learned to play the game, you wouldnt face any problem with bastion.

Even plat/diamond bastion is in no way op and that is middle of the playerbase, where most people play, Bronze is just as “Selfish” a rank as Grandmasters/masters. But your problem actually has an easy solution connected with your own performance.

Bastion is just too situational to be allowed to be much better. His potential damage output is the highest in the game, he just sacrifices all his mobility for that. Sure, you could change it so he does less damage with more mobility (not Bastion anymore) or a shield/more HP to stay alive a bit longer while being stationary - and while it would make him more competitive, it’d also make him less unique.

Let’s also not forget that while not being picked a lot, he still got some use even among the pros, so he isn’t that bad - just very, very situational.

If bastion gets buffed to much he is overpowered if he is nerfed too much he is the “worst”

What is this solution you speak of? You can’t say that and not elaborate!

People forget that you can switch characters in a game, you don’t need to be bast during the whole game. For example on those def maps where I have to walk long distance back like [Temple of Anubis] if I die with bast I go with other hero.

The new bast seems to die quick, maybe just because everyone is on him now :stuck_out_tongue:

Also it feels like his ult ends faster.

It isn´t a simple solution. It is a general consensus on getting better and learning the game.

First learning the game, then learning the heroes and maps. Get good at them, maybe specialize in certain ones. Reach higher ranks etc.

If you are bronze, Aka the worst players in the game, how can you objectively put out statements of, what does or doesn´t work, when you are objectively speaking, unable to play the game compared to 90%+ of the players.

It should be interesting to see how it pans out. He is hard to handle if no one communicates, okay to deal with if people are on mic. The phrase I hate “Git Gud!” shouldn’t even matter, it is all about communicating.

This all depends on what ranks blizzard envisioned him playing in. In the lower ranks gold and below he’s actualy quite deadly. Theirs poor aim, bad team comps, poor game awareness, few to no barrier tanks and no team communication. Time and time I’ve seen my team repeatedly march on into the line of fire like lemmings.

In the higher tiers they seem to be having some success with bastion and sym, and orrissa together. So it may be a bit early to say that it’s not working.
