With Overwatch becoming a free game a few years ago it just seems that this game gets more unenjoyable each day. With many people using multiple accounts to ultimately smurf ranked… But what feels like the biggest issue right now is that there is no way of enjoying a game without smashing or being smashed. People take the game so seriously they need to win every game even whilst in the unranked queue, constant counter swapping and playing so sweaty makes the game really unenjoyable on all sides. Unranked now just feels like a place where its just fast comp just for people to spam “ez” and other ego boosting comments in chat.
I play on console and the competitive problem is ximmers coming in and destroying games by having huge advantages over the rest of the lobby which never seems to be addressed. You see it plentiful in the Xbox comp queue and i imagine many of the top spots especially for dps are filled with ximmers and nothing seems to be done.
No doubt the comments will be filled under this with “get good” etc… you cant “get good” when every lobby is a pain staking grind to stay alive or being absolutely demolished from start to end. And no doubt nothing will come of it either, just needed a space to get it out and forget.
I completely agree mate. The game always seems completely one sided. It’s a shame, as it used to be a great balanced game.
Honestly. Smurfing was a bigger issue in OW1. Don’t seem much of it now. (Remember alt accounts aren’t smurfing.). Accounts have always been free to create on console once you bought the game, so going F2P would have made no difference for that on console.
Honestly it just sounds like, fairly, that you just don’t enjoy the game as much any more. Blaming it on random things seems pointless. There’s no shame in just growing beyond something.
Cheating on console is a massive issue. They’ve said they are taking steps, but it should of happened years ago.
I’d question what you’re doing in matches if it’s always one sided.
Thats not true, Blizzard annouced very recently that they’re using a new algoritm do detect Ximmers and they will eventually banned. Now if this algoritm is effecient or not idk, I’m a PC player and here we need to handle cheaters.

I just gave up with recent seasons of OW2 (~ S2) and just soft throw, type in Bad Game when it’s totall stomp mess and spam reports when I’m frustrated with the game

OW2 can recover but there has been no one to replace Jeff and without leadership it wont go anywhere

I guess this is why some think every game is a stomp… they tilt either soft throw, or deliberately throw… then get annoyed about it being a stomp… Self fulfilling prophecy or something.
That is a fair opinion to have… But OW2 has been out for approaching 2 years now. If you aren’t having fun. Just play something else, you are only wasting your own time.

You aren’t addicted. You just like playing the game. You might have more things now you dislike, but you still enjoy playing otherwise you’d just do something else.
If you are staying just to troll matches and throw games. Then you aren’t addicted. You are an attention seeker. Main character syndrome “no one can have fun, because I am not having fun”.

No, i throw games only when i see after few tries/strategies/swaps that it’s useless whatever I try and I just can’t help my team - cause there’s no point in even trying so i can just run as sombra/lucio across New junker town map.
i never troll people, never t bag or swear in chat , all I do is throw if it’s stomp, write wp or bg, or report people out of frustration cause i feel that blizz don’t care anymore and everything is abusable and left on players judgement

I play it sometimes, it’s just takes too long to have a team so joining OQ is still a better option cause you can play 2 tanks there too…kinda
I said my piece. I am not going to tell you how to play the game. Just don’t pretend like anyone is making you do it. You do it because you want to be the main character.
Almost like people prefer to just play 5v5… maybe.
I never said that someone made me do it… I wasn’t like this till 2 season ( played all games, no games were left, didn’t care about balance, stomps, smurfs ect ect.). maybe ow 2 direction impacted on me, or maybe war that is 50 km away from my home - or that could be both…
maybe blizz will do something, or maybe not and things will be as thy’re now and we will still see same old topics on repeat

Nobody asked for 5v5, removal of portrait borders or battle passes, hell! They could reintroduce Lootboxes (free one of course, not purchasable Lootboxes!!!) that held previous Battle Pass Items that are no longer available anymore… and speaking of Leadership… what is Aaron Keller doing but looking sad?
You’re right. Super right. And what’s worse is it is killing your game blizzard. You will not be getting new players because new players typically land in what rank? Gold right? Where are new cheater accounts being placed? Gold. What do these new accounts do when they get demoted to silver? They keep fighting silver and gold players until they drop lower and make a new account to go back to gold. At least make some money off these cheaters and start charging for the game again. If your new players are just going to get destroyed by cheaters, they’ll just find something else to play.
i dont think counter swapping is the issue but you are right about the ‘‘ez’’ and toxic remarks at the ending of a match.
you would think blizzard would eventually, just like us see the toxic pattern in their game but yeah… they dont care. probably has something to do with being a money whale in the game.

Just creating an account and playing. Be it your first, or 200th account isn’t smurfing.
