The Problem with Easy Powerful heroes & How to Fix Brigitte

This is not Just About Brigitte. It’s, in General, a point towards making easy heroes too powerful in the game and how it creates big problems.

Low skilled players and people that haven’t yet put decent hours of practice into “fair heroes” will generally not understand why some heroes need nerfs.
It’s just natural to love Moira & Brigitte for example, when you are one of this players because you feel like you have a big impact on your games, you feel like you are very good at the game and you really haven’t had that feeling yet with other “fair” heroes because those need time and practice and skill.

On the other side, the more serious players that have a lot of hours of practice and knowledge on the game, suddenly start feeling like all that practice and so on is worthless because we are getting these easy heroes that can be learned fully very fast, be played by anyone and face equally those previous players, and that sucks.

The balance between how easy a hero is and how much impact it can have on matches shouldn’t be destroyed but that’s what is happening in Overwatch.
The General player base will be happy because they have one more easy hero to make them feel like they are Amazing. And the more serious people get frustrated, “what’s the point anymore? I train but this random guy picks this easy hero and can fight me has an equal”.

Now let’s talk about Brigitte for a bit:
The Problem with this hero is exactly the same problem that Mercy 2.0 had. Blizzard gave an easy hero a very strong ability and then she owned all the games. Rez was easy and really good, it basically had no counterplay, players on the enemy team would just get frustrated and outplayed every time every game. And everyone could get that huge value with Mercy.

Now Imagine the following:
Imagine If sleep dart was insanely easy. And you are Playing Pharah, and every time you even enter the field of vision of Ana you get slept mid-air, every single time. Would that feel good?
That’s exactly what is happening with Brigitte. The shield Bash is super easy and it hits every time, and you just can’t do anything to avoid it unless you don’t get close to Brigitte, but that’s impossible because Overwatch is an objective based game. You have to be on the point or the payload, and if not, Brigitte’s teammates eventually need to get killed.

Even if we look at the other heroes we shouldn’t get close too, for example, Mccree or Reaper, do we really never get close to them? No, we can get close and still even win, and that’s because there are ways around the heroes and their abilities, that’s one of the main Points of the game Right? But with Brigitte, there’s no way around the stun… Even tho it might not be so strong has that old 2.0 rez, which I disagree because it’s pretty easy to generate kills with it, not to mention other things like denying complete heroes from playing (Reinhardt & Winston) and blocking Ults. But the problems are still the same, it’s too strong and easy, everyone can bring huge value in every game, and there’s no counterplay to it.

Briggitte has 4 abilities. Everyother hero has 2 or 3. If you just removed Shield bash the problem would be fixed and she would still be a decent hero.
She’s hard to kill because of the passive, shield and armor, repair pack is really good (no other healer can just “save” a teammate that’s about to die like Brigitte can, and also she enables other cool things duo to the extra armor), if she doesn’t want someone to get too close she can push them away with whip shot and it’s also useful for other things, and the shield is just nice.

If you wanna keep 4 abilities I suggest making Shield bash a dash instead.
She does that same movement, maybe with a bigger range, to any side shes walking but she doesn’t stun anything.
