If I were to go onto someone’s account, then boost them into a higher rank. That account would get banned for boosting. Instead, I could smurf in a duo with them, do the exact same thing, but no accounts would be banned. Smurfing is just a get out of jail free card for boosters, when they are doing the exact same thing.

Because boosting is against the terms of service.
Having a second account and playing on it isn’t.
The issue would be if you actively derank it, that process is bannable. But once deranked, if you just play, then there is technically nothing wrong with that.
So, people need to report for the deranking. That is all.
A friend of mine tested this. Got a new account, played normally leveling to 25 then did placements. Placed around 2800. Despite his peak being 4.2 on his main.
He got to 3.5k within 20 matches, so it was hardly an issue.
how is that? Boosting is against the TOS, on your main account or on your second, third or tenth, doesn’t matter.
But you can boost on a second account, and you will not get banned, so why is this allowed…? But boosting through normal means isn’t. It doesn’t make sense. Boosting is boosting.
Because you can have as many accounts as you like.
Boosting has nothing to do with that. That is a totally different issue.
I have 2 accounts. This one and a Ball one trick account, which I just use to vibe out on. Put some tunes on and chill.
You can’t really boost by playing in a duo/stack. Like tonight I played with 2 DPS players that were about 3.6k. I am 2.7 atm. We won a bunch of games fairly easily.
Are they boosting me? or are we just playing the game and having fun.
Now, if one of them logged on to my account and played, won a load of games… that is boosting.
It is potentially boosting because SR is not performance based in the sense that if you are ‘under playing’, then you will lose SR even if you win.
Another way it is boosting is because you could be intentionally being placed with players that are so out of your rank that you will gain more SR than the people you are playing with - boosting you.
Or, you could just play the games have fun and not worry about it.
If your stack is all within 1000sr, then all is fine. If one person pops off and carries and the enemy doesn’t like it. Tough
They need to get over it, and get better at the game. Simple.
All this crying about boosting and smurfs is fundamentally a waste of time. Just put a fraction of that effort into improving as a player and you’ll climb anyway.

I am on the verge of quitting this game because of smurfers, there is absolutely no fun when I am being spawncamped along with my entire team
Not everyone plays to get better, some people play just to have fun and people like you take that aspect out of the game for people like me
Maybe try to understand that not every single person plays to climb. It isn’t that hard to understand, try understand a different view like this, I play for fun, you take that fun out, I no longer want to play.
It can be boosting, because if I smurf in a duo, and got payed to boost them I would not be banned. but If I went on their account and boosted the account would be banned which is fundamentally flawed.
The spawn camping thing… that can happen without smurfs… Just a team playing better than you and having an aggressive strategy.
In gold/plat games, any time a team plays with aggression, conviction and with a plan they win. If that means you spawn camp as a team you do it.
If one person is spawn camping you as an individual… let them. They have left the rest of the team in an even 5v5.
If they are spawn camping more than one of you on their own… then you really need to look at what you are doing, and not blaming them for being better.
I totally understand people don’t play to climb. But if you are playing for fun, and someone is spawn camping you… then maybe just laugh at how badly you played and move on?
I have a change against a regular team, and it’s somewhat more tilting knowing it’s a smurf.
I play in mid diamond, and it’s not always spawncamping, but constantly getting rolled and full held is boring and unfun
I’m not bothered about looking at what I am doing because I don’t care for improvement, but it’s just not fun when I’m in deathcam or spawn for 90% of the game

I very much doubt it happens “most” games. A few here and there.
Most rolls in QP are down to people not really putting the effort in and just doing random things while chilling.
I think people but too much value in to what happens in QP… I didn’t touch the mode for about 2 years, until lockdown and my friend wanted to start playing again, so we played a few hours a night. Games are not “good”, they are fun and you can have a laugh bantering and messing about. But it is not a good example of what good games can be.
So you just have to take it for what it is. Quick matches, with a very loose match maker (so you can get quick matches). Ones where people will not care and will just do as they please.
As you say, you are not bothered about what you do… well the rest of your team is in the same boat. So why get worked up about it.
But with any mode or match… if you are dying a lot… it is probably because you are making mistakes. Better players will just punish you for them more consistently.
If you don’t want to improve and iron them out a little, that is totally fine. Just kind of takes an axe to your complaints a little.
