The Problem with Symmetra

2 Reworks and she is still seen as a joke. After this second rework, many old Symmetra mains have parted from her, seeing her as less fun and definitely less of who she really is including me. I find her very difficult to have fun with now, her old kit felt so much more fun and satisfying to play.

I bet we’ll have to wait another year for yet another rework. I strongly think that this kit should’ve been thought out a bit more.

Primary Fire: Lock-On 30/120/160 | 2s rank up | 2s to rank down |
Secondary Fire: New

Turrets: 6 Throwable Turrets 30 HP and old damage

Ability 2: Photon Barrier (Same as Old Sym)

Ultimate: Teleporter/Shield Generator (IMO these were completely fine)

This would probably be the dream version of Symmetra. Both a reliable primary and secondary fire, an ability that allows her to defend herself, reliable turrets that can reach anywhere she needs and her old ultimates which were definitely more game-changing.

Unfortunately, this is highly unlikely as our feedback is rarely seen in the game itself :frowning:

so an aimbot beam a secondary fire that can 2 shot a target in less than 4 seconds and assuming the turrets would do the same damage as they do now that would be incredibly overpowered as the turrets currently do 50 damage per second and when stacked in 6 it would do 300 damage per second it would take half a second to kill you as a squishy and 2 seconds as roadhog and a tracer would be killed in 0.25 seconds that is the average reaction time if it was old damage i would be fine with it teleport and shield gene i have no problem with either but the other changes are not okay in any way

Definitely not with the new damage, probably the old damage but toned down slightly due to the HP buff on the turrets. As for the aimbot beam, I think it should have the same ramp-up and ramp-down times as the new aim-required gun because lock-on would be much easier to keep it focused on a target but the old damage to make sure it isn’t overpowered.

She’s okay the way she is, apart from her utterly useless teleporter.

Keep her the way she is now but with her old teleporter and she’s solid man!

Useless teleporter and useless primary fire IMO. Personally think they should switch Photon Barrier and Teleporter round again while also reverting her old lock-on beam with adjustments. They took the most fun parts of Symmetra (Building and microwaving) and threw them away :frowning:

opaf
too many turrets for too much damage, lockon doesnt have a place in the game and m glad they removed it, what symm needed is a better source of damage and an ult that helps attack and defense, and they succeed

I think
-slightly faster Tele uptime so people can actually get through it before it gets broken
-revert primary fire with adjustments/just reverting it entirely
The rest of her current kit is fine but dear god fix primary fire. Sitting there with a crappy unramped primary is horrible.

This would just be old beam but with snail ramp up time?

The old beam was just horribly frustrating to play against. If they bring it back they should make it a soft lock so you still need a level of tracking to ramp the damage up.

Yup. The 2s gives the enemy a chance to get away, but Symmetra keeps her levels for a loner period of time (4s to go back to 30) so if she encounters other enemies and isn’t dealt with, she’s gonna be a monster.

Fair point but I hate snail beam tbh.

Or you could all just learn to AIM. If you can’t, it’s a personal problem.

stop being lazy

Sorry didn’t think of that, sorry for wasting your precious time

the dev said they want players to play her in the place they want her to be
well she’s been the worst for over 2 years, probably thats where she’s wanted to be, time to give up asking

As I play a lot of MH, I sometimes get to play with new Symm, and I gotta say, I find her pretty powerful. Sure, it’s very situational, but it’s quite possible to take down the entire enemy team if they’re not careful. One bad Orisa shield and you can get all charged up while behind a corner, then you aim towards the flankers, they fall quickly, back to the shield to restore ammo, burn down the other 4 enemies, job done. Does it happen often? No. But it happens, and if you’re better with her than I am, you can definitely make it work.
Teleporter is very situational, the rest of the kit is fine or good.
