The problem with the "gg ez phrase"

gg ez. if you type that in the chat ingame you get a random message, this had led to many questions on quite a few of my friends behalf, one of the messages is about insecurities, as this isn’t anything to joke about, I would say this is quite rude, yes it does help certain people, but for the rest of us it isn’t the nicest thing.

You are referring to this one, right?

I’m wrestling with some insecurity issues in my life but thank you for playing with me.

It just shows that Blizzard has some sense of dark humor.

Well the person that types down gg ez (something considered disrespeactful) should not be easily offended by something like this.

No, in my opinion it’s a fun and interesting way to deal with disrespect. It’s one of their best additions.

Are your friends the ones typing “gg ez” and feeling bad for the random messages at the end of each game or did I misunderstand?

The funniest thing in gaming is seeing a QP player type something like “ez” after a QP win, then you check their stats and see they don’t even comp. smh.

I think Blizzard just put a funny twist on this. It’s fine. We shouldn’t get worked up over this silly stuff.

Saying gg ez is rude. It’s simply projecting it back on the person saying it. Don’t like it? Don’t be rude. Simples.

Only low IQ people say “GG ez” anyway, if you can’t say something new after 18 years or something…

well you see, you can’t please everyone.

Yes, so when you are rude and try to diminish someone, you should expect and accept to be treated the same and diminished as well, I love the “wrestling with insecurities” line, it’s one of the best moves from blizzard to put disrespectful people in their place.

The quote says don’t project your insecurities on others. Don’t boost your confidence at others expense, and don’t give respect to people who dis others.

There’s no problem with the gg ez phrase and you know that.

when I used to moderate a forum, when I had to erase rudeness, I changed their post (or the relevant parts) to this

(and no, it wasn’t an My Little Pony forum. I’m just an evil mod)

You can type GGEZY but still it is rude

It funny but would have been much better if they replaced it with “gg but my team carried me all game and I was using sprays after any in game action”

Played a nice QP game yesterday to warm up for comp. Saw a friendly Rein on the team and as Zarya I’m always happy to see a good Rein by my side on the front line. Everything went well and I was even going to type in chat “wp rein” but then for whatever reason he wrote “ez clap” right after we won and it just made him look so childish and not even worth complimenting.

Yeah yeah I know, it’s no big deal, who cares, I agree, but just the type of person who will engage in a fun 10 minute game, then intentionally do something to make the other team feel bad about themselves, not the kind of player I want to play with or be around tbh.

Overwatch is toxic at times at times yes.
I envy you if this is your biggest problem with “toxicity”.

Haha yes don’t you love these sad fella’s with the spray spam thing cause the kids in OWL do it its cool right ? xD

More about being offended sharing your unimaginative stupidity. For the next 10 years i’m going to tell you a knock knock joke every day. Lets see how long it takes before you want to slap me.

Also your are talking about growing a pair when i firmly belief those people do have a pair and those “tough talk i like being disrespectful towards a stranger on the internet” are the first ones to run if anything bad happens in real life.
