There will be a 365 day cooldown before you can attach a new Playstation™Network account. You can still re-attach the previous Playstation™Network account with no cooldown

I have the same problem here. Had to play on a brand new account. This is just dumb. I put way too many hours on my other account and just for a silly mistake I have to wait a FULL YEAR. and yet it’s been a whole week since I created a Ticket and haven’t received any type of response whatsoever. This is just ridiculous

Same issue here (PS4)! Accidentally signed in on my old account without realising. I went back and disconnected the account and tried to add my main account instead, which then I was met with ‘there may be a cooldown’ however it presented me with the correct account after I logged in and the option to click connect. After clicking connect it took the option away and presented a large orange box saying there is a 365 day cool-down…. Very excessive… Now I can’t log in to play the game at all. Had to start playing in my old account and make a whole new battle net account because I’m too scared of touching the account in case I lose everything. I submitted a ticket with no response yet but hope this gets sorted soon. The whole release of this game has been a total disaster……

Same happened to me.
Moreover, I noticed that it was wrong when adding the account and tried to cancel it. (I hadn’t pressed confirm yet) But when I re-entered the page, it only said that I had to approve that account, I couldn’t cancel no matter what I did and I had to press confirm to leave that page. After that, when I removed the account, it said that I had to wait for 1 year. This must be a joke.

this is incredibly dumb, battle.net automatically connected the accounts having the same emails…

i had 2 accounts on the ps4, one (which was my main) with an old email, and another one (my alt) with my new main email.

so ofc when i created a battle.net account to play overwatch on the pc, i created it with the new main email.

now they AUTOMATICALLY, WITHOUT EVER ASKING connected my pc account to my wrong account on ps4 and i cant do nothing about it, this is insanity

log out of the ps account on internet and it should let you log in the right one.

Turnaround time for support is approximately 12 days I have seen

And whats worse there is NO fix for the 365 day cooldown. They have told others I have seen that its “hard-coded” into the system and cannot be changed.

I made the same mistake of connecting the wrong battlenet account and cant switch it back as well.

Effectively support are saying there is nothing that can be done about it and I find that unacceptable

hi, i’m having the error disconnected from game server lc208 from ps5, some guides tell me to disconnect my playstation account and reconnect it that the problem could be solved, someone confirms me that if I reconnect the same account I don’t have to wait 365 days?

“Blizzard games featuring Cross-Progression store your progress on your Battle.net account, not your Console account. After Cross-Progression is enabled, and your Console and Battle.net accounts have merged, the Console account will no longer contain your progress such as cosmetics, Overwatch 1 credits, competitive points, and golden weapons unless it is linked to your Battle.net account”

So anyone who is in this situation - all your stuff is tied to this battlenet account and not your console account. If you could attach a new console account it may work - however battlenet wont allow people due to the 365 day cooldown.

I advise you all write tickets to support looking for help but turnaround time is approximately 12 days or so.

This may help some of you. I had the same problem. Accidentally linked wrong account and got slapped with a 365 cooldown.

If you have already merged accounts everything will be attached to the Battlenet account.

Made a second PSN account. Logged in. Tried linking to it through Battlenet on the consoles browser. This seemed to sidestep the whole connecting directly on the website almost and I found I had got in.

Everything was intact. Just friends list was gone. Had to add those manually but otherwise I got it back up and running.

If you are desperate to play and dont care about trophies I suggest you try that too.

Happened to me moving my account to a new switch. Tried to log in and asked for the info again, then gave me the 365 day cooldown message.

Ive never had any issues linking or unlinking accounts like this. 365 days is extremely excessive. Maybe a 24 hour restriction in case your account is compromised, but an entire year? Considering you need a log in and authenticator it seems unnecessary.

Blizz losing out of money on a bad oversight

No way im waiting a year to link this actually crazy grrr pow

And now here is an example, never buy a console and never use it with other family members… Always buy a PC or a console to every individual that wants to play and link all accounts to their consoles, not all to one… I kinda do understand about being locked out of your “own” product (its not your product tho) because on consoles what was quite common was making a ton of accounds and troll/smurf in Overwatch and this way you can do that once a year xD…

To put it simply, get your son a PS or PC so he could do whatever he wants and anything account related should be consulted with a parent before doing so… If I had a kid, I would not let him link anything to anywhere if he was not consulting me first, just a basic house rule “Yo dad, I gotta link OW accounts, can you check if this is correct since I know you have the game too?” Or “yo dad OW requires account linking can you check it out?” Or just make your kid smarter that he wont do this stuff xD This is completely your fault and you are the one responsible, See ya in a year in game then.

“wow this info is so helpful thanks” - said in sarcasm

And it didnt give you the year long wait? I think I’m too scared to do what you did

Does anyone know if re-attaching previous (wrong) PSN account will restart the 365 days cooldown?

Same thing has happened to me with my xbox live account. I needed to swap it over to my current battle net account and accidentally used the wrong email so now i have to wait a whole year? Seems so ridiculous because what makes them think in a years time im still going to be trying to link my accounts.

Just here to say that I’m experiencing the same. What the hell was Blizzard thinking implementing such a lockout period? I’ve seen many player responses saying that they just won’t play OW2 if this is a dead-end issue, and I’d be among them.

They have t even replied to my ticket to let me understand what’s going on cause I keep getting spammed with merge but I agree etc but it’s keeps saying my gamer tag and account changed for my Xbox console so I can’t even merge etc and ow1 is missing etc tickets not been replied to now for 3 days I don’t know what else to do everything is linked to right account
