Doesn’t work for me unfortunately
I have 2 accounts on Xbox with similar emails and made the mistake of linking the incorrect one. I noticed my mistake when the wrong gamertag showed as being linked. I went ahead and disconnected it in order to connect the correct one but I was exited to play so I didn’t see the 365 day restriction. It was my mistake but to put a 365 day restriction on this seems excessive. I submitted a ticket on Saturday to see what could be done about this and received this response today:

Linking console accounts to battle.net can be done though there are alot of restrictions. To find out more about how to link your account, please visit our support article found below. Note that disconnecting and relinking the same account will NOT incur a cooldown.

Do also note that Customer Support is not able to link accounts, modify links, bypass any cooldown restrictions nor assist with console account recovery. For console account recovery, do reach out to the relevant support team for the platform.
Additionally, console links must be confirmed by logging into the relevant console account. The Console can be different (ie; xbox one / Xbox X or PS4 instead of PS5) but a confirmation must be done from the console account for it to complete.

I have responded to them asking who I can contact to resolve this issue if they aren’t able to fix it themselves. Extremely frustrating but I will post again if I receive a response.

Your little rant is invalid to the fact a year lockout IS excessive.also i have authenticator and my kids don’t know my password.
Please explain to me how my full timed account of 6 years ONLY i have the passwords to,that was ONLY ever used on my PSN account magically linked its self to my sons PSN.do you not think i’d of noticed in 6 years of game play i was playing the wrong PSN account …
Same issue where I’m locked out of my account because my brother synced his account to my xbox. I gotta hope it’s only a matter of time until Blizzard either reduces or removes this cooldown because this is insane. I’m a Season 1 Overwatch player who has played every season but even though I have access to the game via my brother’s much lower account (which would ironically make me a smurf) I’m boycotting OW2 until they get this resolved.
Same issue for me. I just recently got my pc and I had to make a new Microsoft account with my email, because my old xbox account is through my dads email. Because of this it automatically signed me into my xbox account and wouldn’t let me change it until I save it and then removed it. By that point I already had the 365 day cooldown.
Then blame your kid for stealing your account xD… A year lockout is indeed dumb AF but imagine if there is someone with lets say 10 profiles, 9 of them are banned, he gets one console profile and links them one by one to the console profile to “merge” the hero skins and other stuff, then he links it to his main not banned PC profile and has everything… The year lockout is there for a reason, People like me do have only one account on site like for example I have one switch OW account and one PC account… but I do have more PSN accounts mainly cuz I made my first one on PSP, another one due to GTA V on PS3 and then another one on PS4 which became my main profile cuz screw GTA V.
Nothing magically links so if you never told your kid your password and you never used your kids console to login into your profile, the only conclusion that I can think of is that your kid is bad and he wanted what you have so he either used your console when you were at work or something (if its password protected while turning on then you might have forgotten to turn it off one day for a while) and YOUR kid just stole your stuff and Blizzard is not to blame here, your and your parentship is to blame here… What I would do would be taking your sons console and PC away from him and telling him to come clean with what he did… Then I would give him it back if he decided to say the truth and did not care about skins and whatnot since its just cosmetics…
First of all you need to realize that nothing like this can happen unless the other party has immediate access to yout PSN which your kid clearly had and was aware of his doing… But at this moment you are the kid here crying about cosmetics in a videogame and your kid is silently laughting at you from his room becaue he got away with it…

Yes, I know there is a reason for the 1-year rule. But isn’t there a support system for fix these “misunderstandings”?
Instead, they give automatic bot answers to hundreds of people who have this problem.
Im not gonna play this game until they reduce or remove the cooldown

They finally responded to mine with a bot message that basically said they can’t/won’t do anything about the 365 day cooldown. This needs to be changed, I can’t think of a good justification at all.
If there is not fix to it and they wont fix it, do you think that you will be able to connect your account in 1 year and if you play can you still have the progress after connecting the account?
Can you explain it in details. I want to play with my main account so bad .
I am having the same issue. I contacted them multiple times and no response. It is insane how long it is.
Got a reply from support and they gave an automatic bot reply to everyone as it was. They said they could not shorten the 365 days and I was warned in advance.
After that i said that their site is problematic and that even though I don’t want to link the account, they force it to connect, and they haven’t responded for 5 days. Status is still “open”.
I’m very curious how they will respond because most players are victims and they are not doing anything about it.

I find it crazy how I am being punished for something that wasn’t my fault. They automatically connected the wrong Xbox live account to my battlenet account and now I can’t connect the right one. Do better blizzard

Are you not able to disconnect the current psn account you want to link and make a new blizzard account and instantly link it to that? A new blizzard account shouldn’t have the cooldown right?
Thats what I did and they still screwed me over as you will need a new mobile number. Even though you can remove the mobile from BN, it will not remove it from OW. So unless you have another number, this will not work. Oh and I have been waiting now 6 days for Blizzard to help me delete my old account and play on this new one, with the right PSN.
Im still missing all my skins
