I made sure to end on gold in all roles. I was G5 tank, G4 dps and G5 support. But now i get rewarded as S1 tank, S2 dps and S1 support. My goal was to end all on gold and after that try to get dps to plat, this is just mean.

It is the same for me. Blizzard stated that there would not be any decay. And I finished this season as a Diamond 2 DPS and got taken all the way down to Platinum 1. I did not receive the ā€˜Diamond Role Challengerā€™ title which I tried so hard for. For me to check with friends who had their rank not shift at all.

Agree this is a ridiculous bug. You should get rank reward in season 3 how you ended the season. Not how you start season 4. Fix asap.

I ended the season on master 5, but when I entered the game I was in complete shock, because I got plat 1 reward, DUDE!!! PLAT 1 REWARD FOR MASTER 5!!!

FYI (STD = skill tier division)

So essentially, you are now in your correct rank according to your MMR.

Rewards are based on what your rank was at the end of the season not the start of a new season

No, theyā€™re not. I received 800 Coins, while i finished my season on diamond on tank. I got deranked to plat in the new seasonā€¦

You were moved to match your MMR.

Essentially you are a Plat player

It is a derank, cause i did get the rank diamond while playing and winning the game. My MMR might be plat and i might be skillwise a plat player, but in the end i got deranked. No other way to name it.

And btw, itā€™s apparently an ā€œissueā€ and not a change they wanted to doā€¦

So, the rank adjustment was intentional but some ranks also erronously decayed on top of that.

So what they intended to do happened, but there is an extra bug with it.

same for me!! Iā€™m just wondering how blizzard determines a personā€™s rank in the game. I consistently get 18k+ healing and atleast 15 eliminations with Mercy each round but i continue to rank down. In season 3 I reached platinum but since season 4 Iā€™ve went down to silver 3 and Iā€™m honestly starting to lose hope even though I know iā€™m an excellent player. Something really needs to change itā€™s super discouraging!!

Wow, you should at least be in gold. That sounds very similar to my gameplay and iā€™m in gold.
Maybe there are more bugs with the new ranking system than previously known.
Take a break from comp for a while as things settle down.
