Throwing by beeing Suspended

A friend of mine was chatbanned because of Toxic behaviour. That means he is banned in every sort of chat including voice chat. My friends and me only play Competitive. So beacuse of the chatban it’s very annoying to play. Communication is the most importnat thing in this game and without it it could be called passive throwing. I understand that people who are toxic need to be punished, but needing to throw because of Overwatch punishments is dumb. My friend played solo que and got called out for not talking and also throwing, which it kind off is throwing. He couldn’t even say he’s chatbanned because well he was banned how should he? At least there could be a sign for other players in the team that he isn’t allowed to talk. But in General muting a person in voice chat in competitive is a bad punishment because it can also affect other players in his team. I think tbe best way to solve this is by changing the punishment system.

I can assure you you don’t need any voice comms to play in platinum/diamond.

ok toxic people should just get banned completely then, don’t be a bellend then expect special treatment

Your friend should know better. People also don’t just report someone for not being in chat, that’s bull, clearly something else is going on.

I kind of agree there. Punishing players this way isn’t just a punishment for himself, but also for his future teams. It’s really weird they do this. It’s better to just ban the player from the game for a while. Doesn’t make sense.
The game in one hand promotes communication, but in the other hand takes away communication as a form of punishment.
Sloppy work there.

Not relevant to the topic at all, troll post.

Also not really relevant to the topic, spam.

People do report others for not being in chat in comp mode as they should, so this is exactly what is going on. One sad thing about it is that more people report others for actually being in chat, but saying things they dont like.

If you guys want to promote the idea that communication prevention is a good way to deal with people who gathered many reports and where autobanned without really knowing if they deserve it or not; and their team should also be punished for having them, then at least provide arguments.

Alright then, I propose switching the mute to a suspension. This way 5 other people wont be “punished”.

Not bad, that’s even revelant to the thread.

The big RED textbox with you are squelched ain’t much better but he learned his lesson now. Why can’t he just play QP until the ban is lifted. You die skipping a week without comp?

it literally is relevant, he’s saying it’s not fair that he’s been a toxic brat and now it’s affecting his team, the solution is to remove the toxic brat

Might be relevant for what you wanted to add to the topic but not to the point which is: why is blizrd letting silenced people go in comp.

yes he shouldve been baned for playing and not only voice chat.

I have a idea if the chat box turns purple it means suspension. if it’s blue it’s a ban. if it’s yellow your looking at a playable yet a forum ban. if it turns black it means everything is offline permanently. Orange it’s means nothing is wrong. It keeps everything in order will understand if people act up it will be easier and faster streamline instead of wasting there time in each color it will have a note capability like a health bar in a video game.

so my point that they shouldn’t let people who are punished for toxicity play comp…isn’t relevant to the idea that they shouldn’t let them play comp? ok cool

Guess im wrong it’s kind of relevant but more of a pointless and spam response.

Might as well add a Rank’d queue ban to the chat one.
