Throwing in Quick Play

Why do people do this? I understand the motive for throwing in competitive, but what is there to gain in QP? I’m guessing there’s some secret exploit that I’m not aware of? Free legendary skins?

There’s almost always zero comms in QP, so to expect anything from this game mode is a waste of time, other than a place to just warm up and sharpen reflexes and aim and stuff like that. The win or loss is meaningless to me in qp.

Throwing in QP:

FOR:
It doesn’t matter. Anything you do in QP doesn’t matter. Looking for a good game? You’re in the wrong mode - go play Competitive or LFG with people who are communicating. QP’s for practise or running silly off-meta heros in a game-like setting. No stress, nothing lost, nothing gained. Most people play without comms because they have self induced social anxiety due to years of communicating via text based social media platforms exclusively with strangers don’t want to be held liable and deal with a stranger telling them off for what they’re doing.

AGAINST:
Regarding the above, QP should techically be a place where you’ve to hone your skills. That’s what it was intended for anyway. You could argue that by playing stupidly in QP only garners bad habits like poor positioning because you’ve been messing around as opposed to playing decent. Playing stupid in QP only causes rage to other players and in some cases, forum posts venting about it.

QP is literally only there to,

a) get up to LVL 25

b) go for silly/funny strats and plays (example, flanking the enemy team as Rein and charging in)

c) testing if your internet is fine before queueing for comp

d) achievements

e) trying out a hero you’ve never played before

f) having fun, aka. Not taking it too seriously, to the point that you don’t even care if someone is throwing, because wtf are you losing?
