Tips and tricks for a struggling plat Rein?

I started playing Rein more and managed to climb to 2700, my career high! But, I’m starting to experience a lot of issues revolving around my teammates.

When I play aggressively they tend to hang back. And when I hang back and wait for the right moment, they kamikaze into the enemy team. As someone who doesn’t have a mic (yet!), I don’t know how to resolve this issue.

So, I was wondering, if there’s a way I can make my intentions more clear to my teammates through my play style. If that makes sense?

Also, how can I get more of a pocket from my healer? They tend to only cater to dps mains. ;(

As a main tank, constantly letting your team know your intentions is part of your job description. This has to happen through voice comms, not by visualization or mindreading.

That’s true!
But there are still amazing tank mains out there who don’t have, or use, mics. So my question is, how can I be a better tank for my team without being able to communicate through voice.

Believe me, if I had a mic, I would happily use it. o:

You really can’t in plat. In upper GM, most players can read you without you saying very much. However, that requires that you play in a way that makes sense at higher levels, and that they know what makes sense. None of that will hold true in plat

Buy a mic, it’s almost free.

Like the other said…

Mic (to learn when to push or slow down) and pratice !
Takes time to read the flow of your own team sometimes and it’s never the same ! Try to learn how to adapt to each team you join ^^

A slow push may be too fast for certain players and I’m not even speaking of the comp of your team, the opposite one and the map…

A mic should help you and improve faster (only faster, not specially better)

Reinhardt is a really hard hero to master (even if he doesn’t requier too much aim)

I don’t exactly know how plat players play or think but I’d recommend that you improve your play style in the direction of skill (if that makes any sense) than in a way that would communicate your intention.

Since Rein is quite often played most players will realise that when you are jumping backwards with your shield being raised and unraised that you want to escape whatever is happening in front of you as fast as possible.

I’d also play around corners with the enemy Rein, repeatedly swinging at him around a corner so that if he does the same your team can push in without the Rein having adequate amount of time to leave.

Shieldjumping is often a mystery to plat players  And diamond. And quite a few masters :joy:

Now that you mention it, ever since I dropped to diamond I haven’t seen many people do it.

Maybe that was not the best piece of advice

i’d pocket you haha but i’m stuck in silver/bronze with the same solo yolo trash hahaha

i carry with either tank or support but then the roll i can’t play gets filled with complete daft people. dunno why but i get the feeling blizzard hates me! :frowning:
