In my previous 7 games today I have been grouped up with possibly the loudest, most toxic individuals thus far (and I’ve played since day 1). A true shame because after having hit diamond again after a handful of seasons I dropped faster than a bolt of lightning strikes a building.
Constant abusive towards one another, literally screaming into the mics spouting their own “superior philosophies and strats”.
Now, I decided to play Mercy, Ana, Zen and Lucio, bit more varied than usual. When people focused for mere seconds things went well and all was gucci. I calmed people down and we had good comps going…then one person overextends, gets picked off and the storm clouds gather yet again, bursting full of negativity.
Anyone else experience the same thing? Hope it is just I being unlucky.
Have a good one o/ .
People have no idea how this works.
I don’t understand how “being a snowflake” is a remotely relevant thing in my situation. Don’t comment if you’re going to troll

Yea, today has been especially bad on the toxicity front. Game after game of hateful, nasty players. I mean, none of them seem to be having fun with it. Gaming is supposed to be a fun experience and yet they’d rather spout hate. It’s pathetic really, but I guess it’s just a symptom of playing competitive games. You don’t get this **** in the Planet Coaster community because that game’s about building fun amusement parks.
So, I join a match and instantly get “Ughh, we have a boosted Mercy one trick” over coms. You’d think people would appreciate a healer, but nah it’s just someone you get to insult and treat like dirt. So, I switch to DPS, which is entirely my right to do if I’m going to get **** for playing support. Then they report me for “throwing”, which I definitely wasn’t. I was just playing a hero that I don’t have much time on.
So, basically people need to either be happy that they’ve got a healer and treat her with a minimal level of respect, or be happy with her “flexing”. You can’t treat people like dirt and then also expect them to fill the holes in the team for you, and as for reporting me, well they are the ones who should be punished for false reporting.
Anyway, It’s my hope that the new changes coming into effect soon will fix these problems. Namely, role select and the ability to hide my profile so I get less of this toxic **** thrown my way.
If the matchmaking system actually functioned properly, there would be no toxicity.
I’m not trolling, I’m just saying. If you have a major problem with it, then leave voice chat.
Whenever I’m in a game (qp) and somebody’s saying: we need a healer! I respond always with: feel free to pick one my friend
I don’t play the game to give the 5 randoms a awesome time. (neither am I flaming them) but when I want to play a qp, then I play the hero i want to, to help my team. And not, oh we again don’t have tank/heal so ofc i’ll fill. Nope. Bc its not fun for me.
I play whatever makes me enjoy it.
In comp. I always hope they let me play something i like to. (and without any experience on tank, i won’t pick one. And I would tell them nicely my heroes i can play (dps/sup) if they agree, they give me a hero I can perform on.
But uf i get smashed in qp bc 3 support vs 0,i don’t pick support, it’s not my dream to be. And I want to enjoy the game.
Tbh i rather loose playing my main, than winning and having a headache after the game from solo healing and surviving.
If I lose while filling, i get mad, Guy’s i healed you like you wanted, why don’t you do your job. More fun, if you enjoy it. (thats why i dont play much comp) i dont like to fill. (if its 1 sup missing for 2-2-2 i usually fill)
Do I wait for LFG tool. To play more comp as my dedired role
At the end of the season it’s especially bad. I mean why is “season ends in a few days” a valid excuse for trolling to people? I don’t understand why. Either you have nothing better to do in your spare time than to be a pain in the ass to others who just want to have fun or you’re clueless. Hell, might be both.
I am swinging between 2850-2915 atm. I will have really nice games flexing and then the usual happens near diamond where everything falls apart due to griefers and such.
I hardly ever experience toxicity in QP.
I do experience less objective play than before which is toxic to a degree but nothing like people raging on mics or insulting others.
Saying “you are dumb” is already being toxic these days.
Hello, first of all I have to say I am not ‘‘innocent’’ in term of toxicity, had a ban of few days, wich was deserved, now I’m working on my attitude, as far as I noticed the tocity come with competitive matches where people seems to don’t get (and I put myself too into this category for a while) that comp is where you really master your heroes and improve your gameplay trying to do teamplay…
but sadly the competitive enviroment made people forget that a game is supposed to be fun. So you begin to listen/read every kind of insult.
what I found useful to calm down and ease up my attitude (still workin on it I did not become an angel from one day to another) was to avoid comp for a bit and stop thinkin (like some post here and there show us) that insults are the ‘‘normal’’ thing and if people can’t take them they are soft skinned or ‘‘snowflakes’’, seriously guys, are we come to the point where if someone do a mistake he need to be insulted all the game along and we have the right to do that?
we better start again to think that EVERYONE (from bronze to top 500) can do a mistake.
These days if you even call someone a pancake it’s declared as ‘Toxic’.
Yes, unfortunately. The worse the state of the game is, the more tilting and toxicity.
