Firstly: Smurfing is bullying and is bad and not cool at all.
More specifically smurfing for the sole reason of owning lesser skilled players in lower ranks.I’ve noticed that people don’t express any ounce of shame when they say they are smurfing, some of them are even proud of the fact. What is cool about beating down on players that aren’t as good as you and ruining their gaming experience, like a coward? It’s really a bully’s mentality and it really bothers me how these people think it’s a good thing. Go play in your own rank, coward!
Secondly: There is no shame in reaching your “max rank”.
I have a silverborder and some stars, which means I have around 1000 hours in this game. I play at Diamond, every season really has been me struggling to get to masters. Some seasons I get there, other seasons I don’t, I don’t really think I’ll ever get to GM and that’s totally fine with me. But I often get comments saying “Lol silver border and playing in diamond” etc from people. Funny enough they are ofc also in diamond but with a bronze border, either being a bully smurf or being that naive that they think they have unlimited potential and will eventually get in the top 500 if they play enough, and that’s not really how things work.
I belong in Diamond and maybe even Master if I’m lucky, and that’s okay.

Not only is the comment juvenile, but it focuses on a problem that isn’t as bad as you probably think it is.
Smurfing may seem horrible at first, but do remember that the opposite exists (boosted players).
Now, I can understand a silver player getting destroyed by a masters smurf is unfair; however, if you are a diamond player who gets destroyed by a grandmaster smurf, you don’t belong in grandmaster, or ever masters for that matter.
I want to agree with your first point however I also have an alt account. My intension is to play on it to see if I can reach a higher rank than on my main, not to bully lower ranked players. During the process I might find myself in a couple games with players below my skill but I should climb up to where I belong fast enough. I do understand that player far under your skill level is unfun for enemies. About that second point. That will always happen, even when they really have nothing to insult you about. I have had multiple players telling me I’m ‘hardstuck’ masters to then check their profile and see they have been plat for the past 5 seasons. It’s kinda funny how even when they are significantly below your sr, they will still try to insult you. No matter what you do, toxic people and throwers etc. will always exist.
Sure some people are bad, some smurf for the wrogn reasons and are toxic (wow, people are toxic, when they smurf as well, as the rest of the game ?), yet your whole argument is irrelevant, when
- The player didn´t choose his rank. Which is only counteracted by the number 2 player.
- He didn´t purposefully throw games or leave or intentionally play worse.
Stop overusing trash terms and play the game.
