It’s absolutely glorious!

:scream_cat: :heart_eyes_cat:

How about… absolutely not?

Hideous. And most people buy it regardless.80 EUR… rofl.

The effects look cool, but it’s not worth 80 prisms to get them.

The effects aren’t even bloody visible for anyone but the person who uses it, the same with the audio from kills etc… Good grief what a waste of prisms…

If you buy this, you should lose any right to complain about anything the game does in future.

Use the power you have as a consumer. Vote with your feet/wallet.

Also, if you actually like the look of it and the effects… You’ve been following the bates method.

A great example of black and white thinking and oversimplification

Let’s break down why the logic is fallacious:

The idea that buying microtransactions in Overwatch or any game means you can’t complain about aspects you dislike is a misconception. Here’s why:

Consumer Rights and Feedback

  1. Entitlement to Opinions:
  • As a consumer, you have the right to voice your opinions and concerns about a product, regardless of whether you’ve purchased additional content through microtransactions.
  • Providing feedback is a fundamental part of the consumer experience and is crucial for developers to improve their games.
  1. Contribution to Game Development:
  • Buying microtransactions can be seen as supporting the game’s development financially. This investment arguably gives you more of a stake in the game’s quality and direction, making your feedback even more valuable.
  • Constructive criticism from paying customers is often taken seriously by developers because it can highlight areas needing improvement and help shape future updates.

Community and Player Engagement

  1. Healthy Community Interaction:
  • Open discussion about the game, including criticisms, is essential for a healthy community. It allows players to share their experiences, solutions, and suggestions.
  • Silencing critical voices can lead to echo chambers where only positive feedback is heard, ultimately harming the game’s development and community engagement.
  1. Transparency and Trust:
  • Developers and publishers should encourage honest feedback to build trust with their player base. A transparent approach to addressing complaints and making improvements can lead to a more loyal and engaged community.
  • Players who feel heard and see their feedback implemented are more likely to continue supporting the game through microtransactions and other means.

Ethical Considerations

  1. Microtransactions and Game Quality:
  • The presence of microtransactions can sometimes lead to concerns about the impact on game quality and balance. Players who invest money in the game may have valid complaints if they feel that microtransactions unfairly affect gameplay or progression.
  • Ethical concerns around microtransactions, such as pay-to-win mechanics or excessive pricing, are legitimate issues that players have the right to discuss and critique.
  1. Responsibility of Developers:
  • Developers have a responsibility to create a fair and enjoyable gaming experience. Constructive criticism from players can help developers understand issues and make necessary adjustments.
  • Ignoring valid complaints can lead to dissatisfaction and a decline in player numbers, ultimately affecting the game’s success and revenue.

Conclusion

Purchasing microtransactions does not invalidate your right to complain about or critique Overwatch or any other game. On the contrary, it emphasizes the importance of your feedback in shaping the game’s future. Constructive criticism and open dialogue between players and developers are crucial for creating and maintaining a high-quality gaming experience.

Told you hulk. ChatGPT is a useful tool.

Still, stop giving blizzard money and expecting them to change anything. Use the power you actually have.

Good exemple of this is cinema industry, critics can destroy a movie/tv show, but the main factor to get e sequel, is the performance at box offices.

Yep. And you see the same in football. People scream and shout about the cost of tickets and replica shirts…
But then stadiums sell out and shirts sell in their droves.

We have the power to end this. We just refuse, or are unwilling, to coordinate and do something.

If we buy it, and it works in the way that it does, with only the player using the skin being able to see the effects and audio, then we have every right to complain.

You can’t refund mythic prisms to get your money back. So there’s no ‘voting with our wallets’ in this case.

You have every right to complain about the item. I agree.

Don’t buy it in the first place. That is the vote with your wallet.

You keep giving them money, they will keep charging silly prices for essentially nothing.
